With the return of Roughy and the rumours of who the Hawks are chasing Gunston, Matt Campbell and Warnock, how does everyone think our team will look in 2012?

We looked too slow with Hale, Roughy and Franklin in the same forward line at the start of this year, as good as Hale has been will there be a spot for him when the big Ruff returns?

Do we really need any more tall forwards? I think not, so i doubt we will get Gunston but having said that if we were to get Gunston would we push Roughead back?

Matt Campbell isn't really a need but a top up so i think that really only leaves Warnock as a realistic option, whom i don't really rate. Gets beaten one on on regularly and has terrible footskills and isn't a great decision maker.

A big defender we need but getting a big body just because they're big is silly. I think someone like a Tayte Pears is someone worth considering. Ellis could be a bargaining chip in possible trades.

This is how i would like us to line up next year if we don't trade for anyone:

Guerra Gibson Stratton

Birchall Schoenmakers Suckling

Smith Mitchell Burgoyne

Lewis Franklin Hodge

Rioli Roughead Puopolo

Bailey Shiels Sewell

Savage, Murphy, Osborne, Whitecross

Depth in: Hale, Ellis, Lisle, Young, Cheney, Breust, Renouf, Gilham

Players i think that might retire: Ladson, Bateman and Bruce

Looks pretty good. I'd have Gilham in place of Shoe. Also, need two rucks I think, so possibly Hale for Ossie?

I gaurentee that if we are to challenge next year, we will need 5-6 changes at least from the team last night. Happens every year, you cannot advance with the same 22 players. So 5 players who didnt play last night will be in and 5 will be out

5-6 changes is massive and i think way too many.

2 or 3 max is all we need, we were 3 points off a grand final.

I've gone 2 changes.

Geelongs premiership sides of 07 and 09 had only 3 changes and thats over 3 years with 2 of them being forced with the retirement of Nathan Ablett and the King trade to St Kilda.
Collingwood will be going in with 3 changes from last year with Brown being the only forced change.

A settled team is the key to premierships.

Do we have any untried young inside or outside mids to come through ?

For me, our best 22 going into 2012, taking in mind we need to blood some more youth is :

B: Guerra Gibson Stratton

HB: Birchall Schoenmakers Suckling

C: Smith Mitchell Burgoyne

HF: Lewis Franklin Hodge

F: Rioli Roughead Puopolo

R: Bailey Shiels Sewell

Can Be Rotated Through: Savage, Lisle, Bruest, Whitecross, Murphy, Hale

For me, current players under the microscope and are :
- Osborne
- Ladson
- Bateman
- Bruce

If we are to turn over 4-5 players, these would be it for me. Top 3 being great servants of the club, but if the club is to get stronger, we need to look at giving others a chance.
