The NFL has entered into a new multi-year partnership with video game publisher 2K Games which will encompass multiple upcoming titles.

The new 2K, NFL games are described as "non-simulation football game experiences" and specifics on developers, exact titles and release dates are yet to be revealed. However, current projects are already in early development and are slated to launch sometime in 2021.

"We’re thrilled to be back in business with the NFL in a partnership that will span multiple video games centered on fun, approachable and social experiences," David Ismailer, president of 2K, said. "It’s exciting to bring together 2K’s expertise in creating award-winning sports games with the NFL’s renowned status as a world-class entertainment and sports organization."

"Expanding the NFL’s presence in the world of gaming has become a focus for the League as we look to grow the next generation of our fanbase and reviving our partnership with 2K was a natural step in that effort," said Joe Ruggiero, senior vp of consumer products at the NFL. "2K is a worldwide leader in sports video games, with a proven track record of creating best-in-class and award-winning games and we look forward to sharing more about the projects we are working on with them in the future."

sadly given what 2K turned the NBA into, this will be a microtransaction fest focused on a Ultimate Team type thing just like Madden and put little effort into franchise and superstar modes.

EDIT: "Non Sim" so f**k. might not even be a new 2K.

Yep. NFL 2K isnt coming back.

Maybe things like NFL STREET or NFL BLITZ type games or NFL HC management games??
Blitz/ Street or mobile.

or turn a ultimate team into more of an arcade style game.

doubt NFL HC will return since thats also kinda a sim game with the actually game. But would be good if it did comeback. sell a game thats just an indepth franchise mode and no bullshit card games.

Was excited for a moment, thought I may have to purchase a video game for the first time in like 12 years. Not to be. :(

EA sports is ****ing joke, and the dumbasses who continue to cough up cash for MUT are even worse. Mind you 2K are no better nowadays really, better game play sure, but they are all about pack openings and all that other bs now also. **** the video game industry as always over the past 15 years.

Two notes....the EA partnership ends in 2021, so maybe theyre transitioning 2K over to official partner.

Also, a video game often takes 3-5 years development and will cost anywhere from $15-40 million to make, so no one is making an XFL game any time soon.

The people are denied playing with PJ Walker. :(

Clap, clap for EA, one decent game in 15 years, joke of à company. ...stunned that a "bloody good game" finally came out towards the end of their contract with the NFL. ...And **** the NFL too for only giving out the one licence.

M18 was also good

Madden has been shit for years. there hasnt been a good one this console gen, and even late last gen.

I dont know how they f**ked it up after merging the Madden and NCAA teams together, especially since NCAA was always a great game and far superior than Madden in gameplay and modes.

They ****ed it up coz of good old fashioned greed, typical company loving the smell of its own fart, telling the consumer what they want rather than actually listening. Too much money and resources put into micro transactions, not enough placed into making a better football game.

Haven't bought a Madden in 12 years now. It saddens me but I stand by that decision. Have played a mates game and seen enough bugs and such online to know I don't need that in my life. I'm an old fashioned simulation player, not a let's play some MUT while I drink a six pack of red bull and wear my sunnies inside wondering if I can borrow mums credit card to purchase more MUT coins to open some packs player.

Madden is trash sorry. Anyone who says it's good now didn't play back in the 'heyday' when it was borderline addictive

Franchise is a joke. They brought in x factor as well which made it even worse
the X Factor was done better as unlockables/cheat cards in one of the last PS2 games.

the mechanics and everything now makes them too OP.
Might also be because back in the day there was less exploits or they were used less since there was no online play, and most played more balanced. but you also didnt have all kinds of bullshit the game throws up. like a trash QB breaking 4 sacks and throwing a lazer 60yds through the DB's hands for a TD.

It's hard to believe in this day and age that a brand name as big as Madden can actually stagnate or gets worse year by year....you look at what has been done with the Mortal Kombat franchise, absolutely extraordinary how awesome that has become.
