Ok I what I now know….

• must sign up in your country of origin with a local payment method
• other that EU and a few other holiday destinations (an OZ subscription will work in USA and, ironically, Brazil) there is no international portability
• your existing GamePass sub will not work with the new service if you are not in the country you signed up in at the time.
• no smart TV apps
• VPN to circumvent is as useful as a wooden leg in a bushfire

Obviously, no idea as to the actual quality of the streaming service yet or what features will be retained or added to.

This is a draconian step into the dark ages, if the whole purpose of this was to stop the practice of signing up in a foreign country simply using a local payment method would have solved the problem.

and my ”feeling sorry for myself moment”….I have never tried to hoodwink GamePass or supported piracy in the past and am now being punished (frankly, robbed blind).

I half expected it to be like this, but kinda expected a discount. If i knew i would be paying $280 for this app that i have never seen a good thing about i would of found someone to go halves on a youtube TV Sunday ticket package. since at least youtube TV is a app i never had issues with.

What are the legit alternatives? Because I’ve been so loyal to GP I don’t even know what other options exist.

dont think there are any, its an exclusive deal for world wide other than the US where Youtube have Sunday ticket now.
Ive also been loyal since they launched in 08, and in 07 i used the yahoo one for a few games that was like the prototype for GP

the NFL when they see the subs drop off in india and south america

My gamepass subscription and email address used for it last year was an Indian one which obviously now doesn't work. When trying to sign into DAZN i get the message that the service is not available in your current location.

If i use a different email address to register for DAZN in Australia and pay the $280 for the upcoming season will they still try and charge me another subscription for the old Indian account ? or do i need to change that to "do not auto renew" in the account settings on the gamepass website ? I can't change that now but i guess i will get the chance to next month.

Your experience is exactly as what I did this morning, no doubt they will auto renew the old subscription after all there is no connection between your old and new accounts (although I did see somewhere on their site where they offer to assist you in changing your email address).

I think if you had auto-renew on with the old site, then it picks up on the new one. my has a paypal account attached which i used for the Brazil sub last year. So either find a way to turn it off and also turn off payments on Paypal if you used them. otherwise they will find a way to double charge you. and because of it being 2 different countries its likely against the ToS so wouldnt refund.

No shit. i saw a go fund my page a few years ago for someone who was renting a house from uncle and it burned down. they made no mention if it being a rental and got like $150K on it. The people that lived there would of been lucky to have $25k of their own assets in the house.

What's the trick to cancelling auto renew? I've logged in on desktop gamepass and NFL com and can't find anywhere to stop the auto renew.

Gamepass is showing the debit will happen on August 30 but NFL.com is just advertising new deals without showing my current subscription
