Being on the bench is the snub. Considering where he has rated in media awards, the players MVP, and his overall season, particularly his first 17 or so weeks. On the bench is a joke....
He played as an inside outside mid in 2025. He didn’t have as good a year as Dawson. He didn’t have as good a year as Anderson. It’s marginal between him and Richards.

Nick’s kicking was off his best all year so he gets edged by the more efficient player and prolific goalkicker. No snub.

Bont got in on his name. Lets be honest. Pendles didn't get the same luxury when he was at his peak. He got snubbed.
Pendlebury not getting in from 2015-2018 is bizarre. Arguably 3 AA calibre seasons, just on a declining team.

But I don't know who should have been in over Bont

Shows how ridiculous it is. Nick has two players hanging off him every week, and still gets more possessions than anybody. but Ed Richards had a better year….? The guy has never been tagged. Tells you everything.
Has Bailey Smith been tagged?

Every time I've seen him this year he seems to be on his own.

How was Zak Butters not in the AA team?

The 4 on the bench are probably ahead of him. Can't fit them all in
I would take zac butters over ed richards and caleb serong . They both aren’t even in the same zip code as butters. Serong is decent, but no where near as destructive as butters.

The official 2025 All-Australian selection panel comprises of: Andrew Dillon (Chair), Eddie Betts, Jude Bolton, Nathan Buckley, Kane Cornes, Abbey Holmes, Glen Jakovich, Laura Kane and Matthew Pavlich.
Really should have had longmire and simpson on it as well, two recent coaches who would have a better understanding of the true value of players and positions than all the other panelists combined.

It's the AA, it's always a mystery. I would have put Butters in ahead of Richards
Tonight's team had the Hoyne Champion data stamp all over it.

Their system of rating individual players places a huge emphasis on outcomes and is thus massively impacted by the rest of the team and the style of game they play.
