With all due respect to your Dad and his mates, it seems a bit pointless to me to retrospectively observe that Daicos didn’t have much of a defensive game and had off days. I don’t recall people worrying about that during his career — they were too busy being thrilled to bits about his ability to win games of footy off his own boot, and not too fussed about the other details.
You might as well say that Bucks didn’t kick enough goals — I’d view it the same way. Surely they were just doing different jobs, according to the competitive requirements of their eras.
Agreed and very well put.
One was brilliant the other outstanding. I feel lucky that I saw both at their best.
It's overly simplistic to label one as better than the other and an exercise in futility comparing the 2. They were so different; as players and as people.
