The kid is a certified jet. Don’t worry about it. The club wouldn’t have taken the route they did unless they were certain he was going to be top 5.Hopefully Nick is as good as the wraps on him, we need some young elite talent in the club
Just want to clarify where he sits to get it right in my mind
He has played school footy (with Rowell and Anderson) and looked elite
He has played some rep footy
At this point he has not played TAC
His most recent footy is 2019
Rendell descibed him "as good a junior as I have seen play the game". He does like hyperbole Matt
Is all the above true?
Best case senario is he is a number 1 draft pick (or near to that) and we get him for unders and have converted 2021 first rounder into some medium level talent via the 2020 draft. We have a good 2021 so the pick we give up is somewhere in mid teens.
Worse case senario. Nick is good but not as good as the wraps say. He performs well at TAC level and maybe ends up as a 10-20 level pick. We have a bad 2021 and end up with pick 5-10 which now belongs to GWS. If we had kept it we would have had access to Nick and a pick between 5-10 in the 2021 draft which is assessed more highly than 2020 at this point.
I understand our strategy to a degree but if what I have written is correct and I am not misunderstanding the position I wonder whether we would not have odds on our side by having held onto the 2021 1st. We got 24,30 and a future 4th, there is a real chance that pick turns into a top 10 pick in a good draft and even if Nick goes in early picks we could have still traded it out next year possibly for a much better price. Of course if ends up a mid teen pick that will be different and I suspect the club and recruiting team have backed up to get the double, Nick a top 3 choice and finals in 2021, if so happy days.
Worse case like senario and we will have shot ourselves in the foot bigtime. It does seem a risk on a kid who hasn't played for 12 months and has not played TAC cup. Thoughts
Please be joking
Footy is a risk whatever way you look at it and especially drafting.Hopefully Nick is as good as the wraps on him, we need some young elite talent in the club

We got 5 in the top 31 didn't we?That why it was good to get 4 top 31 Picks in last year Draft as we Finally bring in some Highly Rated Youngsters instead of Trading for a Mature Star then getting Prospects late int the Draft and Rookie Draft
We got 5 in the top 31 didn't we?
Did I miss Eddie playing 100 games for us?Big wraps also on Buckleys Kids and also Eddies, future champions.
Reminds me of my high school years and Ron Richards grand son attended,
Great guy very funny and the splinting image of Lou.
Fairly sure he’s taking the piss mate. Both Ed’s boys are past draft age too I think.
Yeah, I think his youngest is either 19 or 20.Fairly sure he’s taking the piss mate. Both Ed’s boys are past draft age too I think.
He was talking about him doing year 12 last year, so he’s 18 at a minimum. Neither of them are/were looking to become footballers though.Yeah, I think his youngest is either 19 or 20.
One of them was on neighbours. Not sure if thats the same one that travelled to QLD with him? Seems to be going into businessHe was talking about him doing year 12 last year, so he’s 18 at a minimum. Neither of them are/were looking to become footballers though.
Yes - the youngest Xander? did year 12 at Melb Grammar in 2020. Played first X1 cricket for them. Not sure about footy ability. He was talking about him doing year 12 last year, so he’s 18 at a minimum. Neither of them are/were looking to become footballers though.
Did Peter do that?If Nick has 43 possessions and kicks 3 goals in his first reserves match then I might agree. If he can go in the midfield
and dominate for years then go forward and kick 99 goals in a season then I might agree. You see where I'm going with this?
Who is Dib?hopefully Dib has an injury or two and puts him in the 25-30 pick range lol
Youseph Dib. A small running winger/forward. AA U16.Who is Dib?
Yeah, he sure didDid Peter do that?
I was at Vic Park when he played his first reserves game, we all went home with our jaws scraping along the ground after what we just witnessed97 goals for Daics I believe but he probably got jipped a few in that year so yeah....

Peter Daicos played his first Reserves game in 1978. From what I can see, that game almost certainly was against Geelong in Rd. 12, and would have been at Waverley Park, as that's where the senior teams played. At the very least it's the first time his name appears in the best players or among the goalkickers for the Reserves. He was named in the U19's best players in the four games leading up to the Geelong game, so it adds up that he would have been promoted after that. He was named best player for Collingwood against the Cats, but failed to score a goal:I was at Vic Park when he played his first reserves game, we all went home with our jaws scraping along the ground after what we just witnessed
