I'm unsure. He did get a couple goals from frees. It was at the opposite side of the ground so I can't know. Maybe it was just high contact.

I would have thought just looking at the stats from his games would be evidence enough that the hype is justified rather than talking to "very good sources."

Okay. At the game isn't always easy to see the other side of the ground, so can't always catch everything

Doesn’t make a difference to their class absolutely, they don’t need to do it but again when your first to the ball that’s always a good thing.

Not particularly surprising. Seems like playing for free kicks is very common now, and given the advantage it gives, why not!

They don't need to but as I say the Umps keep Calling it then Players keep doing it.

I said Duckwood and other Players do it quite a Bit. Hell Pendles has done it a Few Time and with Umpries Calling Them players won't stop doing it

I disagree but it’s a tired discussion and what happened in 2020 can’t be changed no matter how many hypertheticals get thrown around. Build a bridge.

Exactly, a few days prem and he’d already be on the list. He’s the same age as a healthy % of debutantes used at senior level YTD.

It may be that the club realises the list needs work fast and would rather have 2 kids they valued (+ points for Daicos) now who can get a couple of years development in the system rather than wait another 2 years.

And I suspect they could have misread the tea leaves and expected this pick to be around 12 in 2021.

We are only 4 games in and really only the last game was a bad loss. Should be 2-2 with wins against teams expected to be top 6.

I agree they’ve misread the tea leaves but that was more likely related to the perceived market value of Treloar, Stevo, and Phillips than on ladder position this year. That was always going to be tough to predict given the list turnover. I reckon by R23 I’ll have a better understanding of what that might be.

It is no super draft. Top 6 or so are good but falls away after that

Remains a bit of an unknown at this stage. Reduced list sizes meant less kids taken through last years drafts so there’s a lot of kids who’d historically have been taken pushing their case this year. Add the absence of a 2020 season for many of those kids and we just don’t know.

It's not about crystal balls or whether Poulter or McMahon makes it. It's about whether the odds were in our favour or against us. Some terrible bets win. Some greats bet lose. I think we reduced our chances of winning, I think it was a shit bet, even though we may win.
