Could not agree more....its sad to see talent turn to nothing...
...kids leaving our system and falling over badly....its actually reflects positively on our systems instigated by Malty and cohorts...
However...Richie Cole - Nicky Davis - and Chris Egan all high draft picks who
simply lacked the will to be the best they can be...

At least NDavis snagged a flag but for his virtuouso performance in a final against Geelong he wont be remebered for much else....

dont think e'll be picked up...
 
in the end of the day he not only has a flag, but is one of the main reasons his team won the flag to begin with.

Spine, character, guts are a few more attributes he was missing.

Me's predicts a long bout of depression for Nick now... anyone else see the interview Hutchy had with him before surgery after Swann came out in the press and said "he was NOT a good bloke"... no confidence, no firmness about the child. Everything has caught up to him now... you create your own destiny - he has no sympathy from me.

Soft and no heart whatsoever.

Davis screwed himself by not adhering to team rules and basically running his own show.
Has as much talent as Steve Johnson and should be his equal but he pissed it away because his application and proffesional attitude is non exsistent, Players that have a real go and do waht they can to survive but dont make it i feel for but not this self indulgent clown.

Not at all. But the Swansn got what they wanted - a premiership after 74 years or so - and after that they really didnt give a rats any more about Nick Davis.

Its all his own fault but I just feel that Roos and Co gave up on him after they climbed the highest mountain. I get the feeling that without that flag he'd still be a required palyer.

fair enough then i see your point, i just think the swans are bloody ruthless with ill disciplined players and if Davis was just that then no sympathy, If he had underlying problems (which i highly doubt) and did not receive support then thats a different story i guess.

Good comparison. SJ's career was on the skids but he re-applied himself and look at him now.

I'm not a Nick Davis fan or anything, but didn't Anthony Rocca do the same to Sydney as Nick did to us? Some players like to go home, right?

The problem with Davis is that he is a selfish bastard.
He played begrudgingly in the 2002 grand final and could have easily helped us win it when the game was in the balance but no Kentucky fried chicken in Sydney was more on his mind.

It is interesting to note that when Davis moved to sydney and during that Semi final against geelong,the lazy f...k did nothing up until three quarter time.Then kirk actually grabbed him by the throat and asid to him listen you useless f..k ,you owe this club and you better do something quick,then the rest is history.

Maybe Buckley should have throttled him,during the three quarter time break during the 2002 grand final,and used some kentucky fried chicken as
bait may have lured him into playing with a bit more heart,the useless sod.

Nick Davis is finnished !
 
If he stayed at Collingwood,he wouldv'e been a star. Only like 28 and will probably have to retire, what shame.
