Nick Maxwell

The first time I really saw him was the London match last year, and I knew he would stay on the list, yet i thought he would be elevated pre-season.

With him being elevated only 7 days ago, the Pies must see a big thing in him. I am saying that Richard Cole has to start performing because Nick Maxwell might play a blinder and take over Richie or as I call him Cole-iwobbles.

Who thinks Nick Maxwell might be a footballer at the Collingwood Football Club this year, or will he trundle back into the magoos after a Danny Roach approach. (1 game)

I'm going to go out on a limb here and state that Nick Maxwell will be a better AFL footballer than Ben Kinnear but not as good as Buckley.

I beleive he will play and be played sparodically throughout the year, just like every other young'un we've played this year. hope Mullins starts tonight!

I've only seen one game where I've gone, "He's doing OK" and even then he was just OK.

He reminded me as being Swan-like. Good poise. Is tall, but doesn't play especially tall (he is pretty skinny ATM).

I'll whack him in the Possibly - Definitely Maybe column!

Obviously we will have to wait and see. He wasnt impressive last week and doesnt deserve his spot over BK or Williams. BK and Williams deserved to be dropped but not for Maxwell. Morrison and heath should be priority over Nick. Hope Max goes well, especially considering he doesnt deserve his spot.

Maxwell took 6 marks in 2 and a half quarters and I don't think he actually got beaten by his opponent.

But yeah put Morrison and ****ING HEATH SHAW?!?!?!

Why doesn't he deserve his spot?

Morrison is definately not ready yet after a few average games for Willy. Heath Shaw has been too sporadic for Willy, as soon as he maintains solid, conistant, form in Willy seniors he might be given a go. I think as far as selection this year we should give Brayden Shaw a go and leave big Cam, Big G/The Stretch Limo and Mullins in the side as long as possible.
Maxwell looked alright but I don't see where he fits in with the likes of Clement and Lonie who would take the same kind of opponent he would have.

Yes but Maxwell can hold down a third defender or something like that and free Lonie up to go up the ground.

I like that idea a LOT.

From what I saw on Friday, I think he'll be a good player. He did some good things and kept a cool head when the pressure was on. Definitely earned his spot for next week. Especially with Johnson moving into the midfield more, and Prestigiacomo out, he's a good addition the backline for us. Would certainly release Lonie to be able to run off the backline more, which seems to be when he's most dangerous.

I think that he is refering to his game for willie against the N.Bullants. did you go and watch that game?

Hoggy, he was average at best against the bullants and i rekon a player needs to be kicking arse to earn afl selection. Again i will say im happy he is getting a run but he didnt deserve his spot based on the 3 vfl games i have seen him play this year and in particular the one against the bullants. He wasnt good against the crows, mopped up a couple of eay stats that didnt mean anything, defence was average but it was his first game and he deserves a couple more to break into the scene.

He might of got 8 possesions, half of them useless, but its better to have a young player playing like that than an experienced bludger like Williams or Kinnear.

His first touch where he managed to handball to advantage despite being tackled by two Crows set him up for the night. I can't recall him turning the ball over once, yet alone half the time.

His first game was very credible. He could be a player in years to come. Only time will tell.

Your are right, it si betetr to have a young player in the side learning the tricks of the game play below average than have Kinnear or Williams do it.

But you are wrong in saying half of his possessions were wasted when infact none of them were. Good job by the First Gamer.

He has proven he can play accross half forward, and he might have provided a good link at the point where we fell down the most.

Rocca's lazy, and would prefer to stand at CHF and bash and crash like He-Man when the ball comes in, as it saves him thinking about a lead. Didak and Davis are going for personal glory, and a chest mark on the flank is beneath them.

The amount of times we carry the ball through the guts without someone presenting to a flank is pathetic. The only one that's ever there is Chris Tarrant, and he's our bloody full forward!
