Rumors coming from the Carlton rooms yesterday about Nick's neck. I hope everything is alright because he played a decent game yesterday and with Waite out we need leadership in our top 22.

Just heard the same on the tv about Stevo's neck.Played a pretty good game with a tweaked neck,go figure...
I hope it's nothing too serious,he maybe a sheep dog,but doesn't deserve the neck problem flaring up again for his own sake.

i hope the people on this forum saying nick stevens is soft should be dropped bla bla bla are happy now.would you be burying straight into pack if you had a very serious neck injury, absolute idiots have a good look at yourselves. This guy has been an amazing servant to our club now looks like his career may be over so now so i hope your happy with that. you'll need someone else to take your pathetic frustrations on.

Good news ...

Stevo is on 3AW now and said his neck is fine, just had a bit of general soreness (which the Docs told him was normal for people to go through who have the same operation)

Nick Stevens role is as an outside midfielder, the guy when we win the ball we dish it off to because of his a+ kicking skills.
It would be a shame if his injury reoccured after a great effort against adelaide(gibbs needs to look at stevens gut running).
A great servant whom battled hard for us during tough times.

I did wonder though whether the trial of that stalker/death threat man and his form improve was coincidental or not. Surely that would have played on his mind since Round 22 last year.

Glad to hear his neck is ok, hopefully it doesn't give him any more trouble he's too valuable when he's hot.

Some of the things that have been written about Nick Stevens these past few weeks by Carlton Supporters have been a disgrace. Yes, he has a different game to some of our other midfielders, not everyone has to be lying on the bottom of the pack. I prefer the ball in his hands before many others as we saw from yesterdays fumbles and turnovers.

One only has to consider what he went through with his neck a few years ago. We don't know how bad things were for him. We only heard small snippets of info.

Anyway, you were a shining light yesterday Nick. Looked like you were getting back to your best in the second half and we need you now more than ever:thumbsu:

Thanks CP for the update from 3AW. I hope he really is ok.

Nah but Stevens has to be the scape goat. Because he's one of the few players in our team playing that Wayne Hughes didn't recruit. And Wayne Hughes must avoid blame under any circumstances.

Doesn't matter that he's had a serious neck injury, doesn't matter that he kicks nicely, players like Armfield shouldn't be criticised but Stevens should. Just so long as Wayne Hughes can continue recruiting :thumbsu:

Do you ever miss an opportunity to put the boot into Wayne Hughes?
We get the point. You don't like him.
Just stop turning every thread into your own personal vendetta against him!

Now. i like some bits of Stevo as a player. I don't expect him to be at the bottom of packs getting the ball out. But i at least expect him to do more than a jog when his opponent has the ball. I have yet to see him run full pace at any time the opposition has the ball.

I am scared that what you see actually is his full pace! Seems to find another gear with the pill in his hands going for goal however

What a ridiculous post... Yeah, because we dont like the way he plays ,we want him injured... You fool... And after this massive rant, its been confirmed that it was all rumours :o, which therefore doesnt excuse him for not diving into packs hard or puting his body on the line. If he's worried about getting injured again, he shouldnt be on the field and taking a reported $650k off the club a year.. If yr on the field then yr 100% and you go hard or dont go out there at all... All this high horse grandstanding from you is pathetic... Career over ... :o Talk about a drama queen.. FFS give it a rest Mrs Stevens...
An amazing servant to our club.. Are you freaking Serious??:thumbsd: The guy has shown up unfit to just about every pre season and has admitted he was a party boy.. He not a leaders a55hole and sulks because he didnt get the captaincy...
Go have a sook with him...

.

No, they have been our opinions and it seems many share it... He is soft.. Some supporters just dont like hearing it... Now we're all meant to feel bad because of a rumour... Gimme a break...People say he goes hard thats how he got his injury... BS.....If you ask Heath Scotland about Heaths incident last week (going for the mark), he says if you dont commit 100% to the contest you are more than likely going to get more injured..
