If Suban and Pearce have a blinder in a grand final it means we are going to be ten goals up by three quarter time.
Not sure I follow your logic there.

The frustrating thing about Suban is that his good plays and bad plays are so incredibly far apart. One minute he'll deliver an incredible left foot pass into the forward then next minute he's missing easy set shots or getting pinged for blatant holding the ball.

Nic wasn't the only one who missed a set shot Saturday. It seems he is still copping it in the neck for past games especially the htb penalties.
Nic Suban has become much maligned.
He provided some beautiful F50 entries Saturday.
I am still bemused at his novel, mountain goat tackle attempt though. Not sure what that was about.

He's missed a few all season. He has such a good kick that he should be kicking goals more often than not. Around the ground his kicking is excellent. We all know his potential which makes it more frustrating when he doesn't meet those expectations.

He is decent around the ground. He has a long penetrating kick. But if you look at the past two games going into fifty he over kicks the target fairly often.

Fyfes snap from the pocket against the Bulldogs was from a Suban kick that went over the leading target.

Having said that his roving from the Clarke attempted mark and hand pass to sonny was very good.

He obviously performs a role but is still doing the same things now he did in his first fifty games.

Yep. Unfortunately I can see him costing us a flag as he crumbles when there is pressure. In bigger games he will find himself free as the opposition won't consider him a threat and those free shots at goal can become costly.

He's tracking along ok. His good is quite is quite good but is bad is poor. It bothered me when he kept getting his kicks smothered on the weekend and it happens often because of how predictable his kicking is.

I am glad he is playing. We have won every game he has played in this year. Nic Suban is alright.

Even if he makes some mistakes and has some skill errors on and off the ball, I actually like watching a player like him who attacks and puts in effort going for the ball with heart every time like he does. I wish more of our players were courageous and hard at the ball like him.

Lets ask ourselves what can he do that others cant?

Best i could conjure is he can get real length and trajectory from congestion kicks off one step. Normally this is absolute poison and should never be attempted.

What else what be on list?

He's still pretty much the same as he was when he entered the competition. Does one or two nice things every once in a while but easily goes missing and inconsistent. You can forgive guys like Crozier or Suttcliffe for those kinds of performances but not a 25 year old. Put Crozier in and we'll get the same output.

Pretty much in the side for meters gained.

The amount of times he goes missing makes you wonder about his fitness levels.

Crozier kicks goals though.

I agree. I believe the reason Suban is in the team is due to his burst and kicking. He is another 80m player (20m dash and 60m kick) that has contributed to where we are at this point of the season. We still have the work rate of previous years (OK, probably improved) but our penetrating kicks are making a massive difference (Pearce x 2, Suban, Hill, etc.).
Yes, I believe Mzungu is a more skillful player, but should we play him and (potentially) lose some penetration? I'm not sure.

Crozier is nowhere near hard enough at the contest to match it at an AFL standard. Remember we're playing without a hard tagger at the moment and if we lose the ball in the middle it's going straight in to D50, probably in the best opposition mids hands.

Suban makes some really poor decisions sometimes but to suggest you could plug Crozier in to his middle of the ground and we wouldn't lose a huge amount of grunt is laughable. Crozier is a HFF, a good one. Still doesn't have the size to dig it out at AFL yet.

Shaun Burgoyne disagrees.

Exactly

Suban does make the odd mistake but swapping him with Crozier ain't gonna improve the midfield drive this season.

Solid gif but we both know that defensive pressure/tackling in the forward line is not the same as getting knocked silly in those midfield battles where Sandi just drops it at his feet and every one of our blokes goes hurtling straight at the ball, no matter who's in the way.

On a lighter note, I've always loved how angsty and angry Suban gets. Plays with so much passion and bleeds purple. I find it hilarious sometimes when you see Suban having a crack at someone, most of the time for nothing :p I remember that time when you could hear him say "you f**ing would you campaigner" to Heath Shaw through the umps mic after Shaw kicked Ballas in the nuts. Classic Subes.
