Congrats on your time in purple Subes. Hope you get a few more years at another club, and that you have lots of kids that are good at footy

I liked the bloke's approach.
Loyal team player who sacrificed whatever creative game he may have developed to play the allocated team role.
Played some very good games for us and I've never bought into bagging a player's lack of creative talent/blistering speed or whatever because the match committee decided 156 times he had a place in our best 22.
Most teams have their dedicated and highly professional foot soldiers and Nic was one of the several very good ones we've had.
Life Membership puts him in some flash company.
Not going to surprise me if he plays against us this season as he hopes.
Thanks for the service and all the very best on all future endeavours.

Ferocious player, ferocious team man - did what he could, never took a backward step ...can't ask much more than that of any player really.

Won't miss his HTB habit, will miss the laser-like left foot he had at his peak.

Get busy breeding Subes, we need as many die-hard reddish-blue-blood parent/child picks as we can get.

All the best.

I'll actually miss him too. Seems like a great guy and character to have around the club. He was a favourite of mine earlier on but like with many others soon became a scapegoat. When he was on, he was actually really good. His attack on the ball was fierce but often that got the best of him with his constant HTB. He had a sweet left foot and has kicked some great running goals outside 50. Always thought he was going to be our Luke Hodge... he seemed to have great leadership qualities.

Bittersweet to be honest but it was definitely time... farewell Nick Suburban.

Admire the way he went about it, even if his talent was a little below average. Another that was too good for WAFL but perhaps always reaching at AFL level.

But of course to run out 150+ times is a damn fine achievement that no one can ever take away.

Hardly reached his full potential but any one that pulls on a Freo jumper is alright in my books regardless of ability (unless they end up at West Coast, then you're dead to me).

At 27, I would have thought he'd be a decent depth player - mature, hardened bodies come in handy. During the finals especially.

If footy don't work out for him he would get a job as a groundsman any where.
Hes had enough time to study the growing habits grass the last few years.
