Freo have added 3 to last weeks 22. All the players are from Claremont who have a bye, so I suspect one will end up travelling as the emergency, Browne?.

I expect no changes to last weeks 22.

Des and Dion to be shown a dose of CC dynamite, they should get votes this week.

If you walk onto the field you declare yourself 100% fit and cannot use an existing injury as an excuse. Yes he may have injury problems, but he's got to grit the teeth and play beyond the injury. He is not gritting the teeth.

When Shaun McManus was getting bagged, he or the coach never used the injury card, even though in retrospect he was at times still trying to gain confidence in himself due to his knee injuries. He gritted the teeth, but got bagged.

If Des is injured, take a month off.

Agreed, if DJ is injured he should be given time off to get fit. It would also give us a chance to give either Browne of Dunn another hit in the big league.

Who's spot would mcphee take in our backline? (and take note that his improvement probably wouldnt have come playing wafl football)

Headland is exactly what we need in a winger - he's not your in and under type midfielder but thats not why we got him. Wing was our sever let down position a couple years back (when macca was sucking) but now our run is pretty decent.

Headland has been average, but if he is actually under an injury cloud, his best could still be quite good. The more quick, booming kicks (yes, before you point it out, i know they arent going to any of our players lately) we have running the wings the better.

We do probably need 1 more in and under, but thats what next years trading will probably target, and what dunn will probably provide in the future.

I think calling dessy a hack is a little unfair and possibly even premature (he is still reasonably young, improvement isnt beyond him). Still rather have headland than mcphee and brennan.

That said, he shouldnt be in the team if not 100%.

He has sucked this year so far, but he was still good in patches last year. Had atleast a handful of very good games. Hasn't lived up to expectations, but hasn't 'sucked'. He also copped a lot of attention last year taking it off other players like Bell and Hasleby.

We've seen him at his best and he has cut up sides with his run on the wing and disposal into the forward line. He's going through a trot at the moment but if we write off everyone that has a bad patch in their careers, we would have no-one left.

It's obvious he is not fully fit, so while he deserves critisism, it's not time to write him off. He was flying in the pre-season before he got injured. Anyway, each to their own, but I'm confident he'll come good.

I don't know why you're rolling the eyes for, he is. He's a receiver and we don't have enough quality midfielders in the midfield to carry him like the lions did.

Kapow, perhaps the depth of high quality that Brissy had but what do you call Bell, Hase, Schammer, Pav and Cookie ?

Difference is pressure, we dont exert the pressure to always give the time to do what he did. Also hes targeted by the opposition more than at Brissy. He's injured and probably complacent as well.

Hes not playing well but he doesnt get the freedom that he did at Brissy.

He has a shadow and is under pressure constantly, that he needs to get used to. Hes overpaid for his form currently.

Who's ready to defend Dessie now?

Me. I'll defend him until he plays two months of injury free footy. It's clear he is not fully fit and he's a sort of player that needs to be fully fit to perform because a lot of his game is based on run. Excuses or not, that's the way I see it.

For the record, count me on the side of the defense - to say he is a hack, merely shows you up to be an idiot - in the Brisbane team or not, his 2002 was stellar, and has 2 injury interrupted seasons since - he aint fit, and shouldnt be playing til he is - that said, who knows the extent of the injury?

Either way, I'll defend him to the hilt, the perfect player when fit to be a true 65 metre player, running it 10 and kicking it 55 - EXACTLY what our sid eneeds right now.

Well said. Count me in on the defense.

I've always been a headland fan and it will take a bit more than a few injury hindered average (not even the worst in our team) performances to change that.

But he needs to have a rest and get fully fit methinks.. oh well.. guess thats what the medical staff/coaching staff are there to determine.

So you're not calling him a hack, whats the above supposed to mean?

Keep the faith - angry or not angry that sortof stuff is counter productive, and even worse, eagle like. *shudder*
