What is happening to my football club ?

For the last 20 years there hasn’t been anything in the papers about us that has come from someone from within the club nor have there been any player incidents reported. However in the past month we’ve had JJ and Solly benched for late night transgressions and now Robert Shaw spouting forth about what he feels is wrong.

Look, I’m sure our players have misbehaved in the past but the thing is NO-ONE EVER HEARD ABOUT IT. We kept everything in house.

I’m sure Robert Shaw loves Essendon and he has been a fine man to have around the club but comments like he made last night are not the Essendon way. Never criticise your club publicly !!!! Its been a golden rule under Sheedy’s tenure.

Please don’t let us turn into a Richmond where every week last year someone was making some sort of comment. They ended up a laughing stock and I don’t want us to end up the same way.

Think Shaws comments were perhaps calculated and meant to make the players have a good hard think about things during the week. To an Essendon person theres no greater inspiration than James Hird and if the players can now see there letting him down perhaps they will attempt to do something about it.

My guess is well see a fired up Bombers in the first quater and a half on Monday. Having said that come half time it will be forgotten about and a 2nd quater fade out will still well and truly be on the cards. Id say the Bombers need to be about 3 goals up at half time as the Pies will come at us

I agree with what Shawry said. It was a weak, spineless performance on the weekend. I've seen them lose by more and not been as dissapointed with them. It seemed like they just gave up. That 2nd half was a disgrace to the Essendon Football Club. I can understand the fade out, but not the senior players who have the fitness in their legs just giving up as they did. It was pathetic.

ive been to 3 or 4 essendon games this year and i fell that the loss of hille and allan is the reason why you are not wininng. essendon is used to having ok ruckman and now they have none soon as these players come back in the team well starting winning

Excatly, no ruckman is killing us. We've played 4 teams with excellent ruckman and it has truly showed. We've been killed in the middle and it is where we are being beaten. But that performance on Saturday night was just weak, pathetic and spineless. As someone who rarely says "Essendon played badly", that is something big for me to say we were that bad.

And yes, I am.
