Put it this way. SUpercoachses' should have Brad Johnson as captain in thier side for this weekend. as he will go on a rampage! Mcviegh needs to play on him, but in doing that we are almost conceding defeat before a ball is bounced as Mcviegh is going to need to play a blinder in the midfield for us to be even competitive tonight. Wouldnt be surprised if there was a late ommission and Courtney Johns comes in. We desparetley need a Tall Marking Forward. If he just brings it to the ground, Froggy, Lovett and NLM can get underneath him and get some crumbing goals. If CJ was ever going to do anything for the red and black the time is now.

He is a much better player than he's shown in the first three rounds so I wouldn't give up on him yet

Brad Johnson is a quality player and a great guy from all that I can tell, but don't let the fact he's played a lot of games and kicked a few goals the last few years get the better of you. He is not a superstar. One of the reasons he's done so well forward for the Dogs is because they didn't have any other forward for quite a while.
Over the last three weeks he has been pretty average apart from the last 5 miniutes against the Crows. The Dogs aren't focusing on him as much as before and he is older. Any expectation that he is going to dominate against us is one made without logic or reasoning.
We have to keep track of Murphy, Cooney, Cross, Gia, and Gilbee those are the big ones. If we can get on top of them we can deal with Johnson.
BTW: Stanton, Watson, and Pev all had lots of touches last time we played them. Lloyd only kicked 1.

Interesting game. Made 1 early mistake but otherwise beat Johnson soundly in 1-on-1s, which would normally be enough. Did however make a few blunders like poor disposal & decision making.

I was at the game so not sure how many possies Johnson had but it seemed like he would have had around 20 odd? One goal does not tell the full story.
That one goal that you are refering to was a discrace. The lack of intensity which Slattery showed was embarrassing to say the least. His decision making and disposal is almost as poor as the intensity he showed in that contest. He is clearly out of form and needs to go back to Bendigo for 2-3 weeks.

His performance is being over rated and Johnson has been right out of form this year, apart from the first game he played against the Crows in his 300th.
Slatts let Johnson kick an easy goal by not attacking the ball.
He has no confidence in his ability, no wonder, and is always second guessing himself and not committing totally to certain situations for fear of making a mistake.
Regardless, he's a quality player and has cut up every team in the comp - including us
Beat him in a number of contests, there was only that early goal which was a clear win to Johnson
Most of his possies would have been when he was in the midfield early on, don't think Slatts was on him all the time
Peverill was on him early. Thought Slattery generally did an honest job but to be fair Johnno is terribly out of form at the moment.
