If a player is delisted (i.e. Jeff White) we do not go after them because they have been de-listed and are no longer wanted at the WORST club in the league. We ALSO do not trade our picks IN THE LAST UNCOMPRAMISED NAB DRAFT FFS.

we also dont want our Greg Miller replacment to be someone who has done an unsuccessful job at another club, or that has BEEN SACKED FROM THAT DAMN CLUB (i.e. Ashcroft from Brisbane).

SEE THE LIGHT AND GET REAL

Here here except for the trading part. Trade up a storm Tigers to be the best team you can be so we can challenge hard for the next 3 years. All our young blokes are going to come along very fast now and we need a couple of really good older players to help take us to the next level. The game is about Flags and I don't care if we win one in the next 4 years and then go the way of what is happening to clubs like Sydney now. The fact is because of the age of most of our list we will be fine for another 10 years with the core players we have now anyway.

Lets play to win , not develope for another 4 years. Personally I don't think many Tigers supporters would have the stomach for another 4 years like the last 4 years because we are still building and developing even if they say they do. The first sign of trouble next year and people will be all over this forum going , why didn't we trade for him , he's kicking bags at that club. Our midfield is good but not great we should of traded for Kerr when we had the chance. What about this one " We finished 9th and missed out on the top 4 by 1 game and that number 8 draft pick has turned out like Jon and played for Coburg all year but he'll be a great player in 4 years" I don't think I have the stomach for that sort of talk.

Tigertroy we tried that philosophy after the 2001 preliminary final and it turned us into a basketcase. Time to try a different philosophy.

Some real passion thier mate:thumbsu:

Only reason I would look at a recycled player would be an experienced 3rd ruck to play VFL, and only come into the ones after our existing rucks had a run.

This is so true. We are actually persisting with our youngsters and they are suprising us. I remember many people calling for Mat White's head and Kel Moores, and Luke Maguanes. Now look where they are. We just need to have patience with guys like JON and Meyer, cause they will EVENTUALLY come good. Give them time and we will have a bargain, even though i know some wont make it.

I've posted this on another thread, but seems just as relevant here.

This is what happens when we trade away picks.

Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, the prosecution rests...

Quite an illustrious roll-call.

FB: J.Blumfield M.Graham J.Rombotis
HB: T.Fleming S.Wigney, R.Hilton (traded for Wojinski)
C: S.Sziller, C.Biddiscombe A.Houlihan
HF: P.Hudson A.James C.Sampson
FF: A. Blurton K.Kingsley A. Blurton
R: T.Knobel, C.King, B.Nicholls

Some we gave up a lot, some very little...but pin this up on the wall for trade week Mr Cameron.

tigertroy it is the trading away our future for mature players that has had us langushing mid to lower table for decades .

lets develop our own and hold our nerve.

go for youth

i just did that thing where you throw up into the back of your throat

oh the names:rolleyes:

All of the above posts are relivant arguements againts trading but this year will be different. How much is enough kids developing on our list. Look at blokes like Brent Guerra running around getting 30 odd kicks a game. He cost Hawthorne nothing. The team of duds in above post had nothing to do with this coaching panel.

I'd be happy to get Kerr. If not keep our top 2 picks and trade up a storm with the rest. Good footballers 23-30 should be on our radar in all positions.
