You guys can't be serious! Only behind Murphy for our most important player today.
Great contested grabs all over the field, kicked well for goal, and generally made good decisions.

Not many people's favourite player, but by god he was good today!

I agree. T-Bird was superb today. Best game I have seen him play.

Would have to be the most contested marks he has taken in a game for his career. Well done T-Bird :thumbsu:

Lets hope he plays like that for another 3 games in a row for the remainder of the season.

Had a shocker last year but has matured, water has gone under the bridge and is playing the season of his life... kudos to him and he deserves his place in the side!

his hands have always been pretty good, seems like the team might have just gone through him a little more often this match. perhaps something decided seeing as waite is looking unlikely... pretty much did anything waitey could have done.

T-Bird was awesome today. His best game in navy blue. Not only did he clunk some crucial marks and kick goals but he always provided us with a contest up there. He's proving to be a more than useful swing man now. He has actually had a pretty good year.

There was an older Carlton fan sitting near me and I think for a good portion of the second and third quarters when we were putting the game away we kept on calling T-Bird's marking and performance. It was awe inspiring stuff. Couldn't be happier for him. Out of all of the guys who went through the shit times the one you have to feel the worst for is the poor full back who knows that no matter how good he plays he's going to have at least a goal a quarter kicked on him! I believe a good part of the issues that he's had in moving the play on, etc, etc. are the results of psychological scarring from that era. He has improved leaps and bounds in key areas where at his age no one has a right to expect anything. One of the most influential players on the team in the latter half of the season be it in defence or attack. :thumbsu:

agree - thornton was fantastic today ... maybe he was just waiting for the big stage to show us all what he can really do!

if he plays that way next week he will cause wce some trouble.

Really stepped up today. Always been a fan of him, hopefully he can put in a performance like that next week!

All jokes aside Irish and tbird add more to the team than Kruz
Saying that hes coming off a serious injury and will be a gun
hasnt played well for a while wouldnt be suprised if he was told to take a rest

T-Bird has been going really well this year in his swing role. Has been having the season of his life.

Irish has been very good as a forward this year in both the VFL and the AFL when he has been playing.

I reckon that Kreuzer will be better served for us as a ruck rover than as a ruck/forward

Simmo deserves a 100 toasts thread...for the time he got crunched, got the ball ran 50 metres and set up a should have been goal. What a star!

I took my girlfriend to her first ever Carlton game today. When she saw that her exact words were "OHHHHHHHHHHHHH MY GAWWWWWWWWD. I LOVE HIM!". Then when I said that he had broken the clubs consecutive games record I think she had a Bluegasm. :):p

Raise You glasses and salute to Bret Thornton

Bret Thornton back to his best and Surely will get a year or 2 on the contract. His hands were terrific, has been a top footballer in our dark days. I know some people here don't rate him, and won't forget he almost walked to Hawthorn. People must know he has saved all our asses in the past, and stood up when counted in the finals.

flipping Oath..Simmo is an absolute gun and prob my fav player! Plays his guts out every week. Definitely one of the most under rated players in the comp.

As for Thornton..I'll admit I was one of the first to question his place in the side. Today was a different story. Marked strongly, used the ball well and had a good presence on the field.

Me and my Dad both agreed that it's the best game he's played for the club.

Thornton always been good, he had only 1 poor season, not 2 years of average football, many good players have had that.
