just about the most loyal companions humans could ask for. The reality is that 1 in 5-6 people are either cheating or being cheated upon. And chicks aren’t all that far behind blokes.

No but he is a footballer and it’s a well proven fact that even the more unfortunate looking ones pull women that would not give them a second look if they had a regular job.

Yeah but because cheating is rife doesn't make it ok. Reality is younger women statistically cheat more. My point is it's not like you can't just change partners if your not happy. So why cheat, just leave.

Traditionally men cheated more(2017), however the gap has disappeared and younger women are slightly ahead.(2024) Older men though much more likely, but that doesn't apply here. Stats are American tbh. Should have said under 40. Also should have realised a statement like that would have got a response

Cheating is never good but it's a spectrum. Cheating on your high school gf because you have no life experience and a smooth brain is one thing. Being a married person that broke the contract and destabilised his own family is another.

I just don’t understand why anyone cares, happens all the time. Surely it’s better to be happy separated than miserable together. Staying together for the kids is pre-boomer thinking. How it ultimately happens is between the 2 parties, the kids don’t understand the reasons at their age.

But on the scale of things that happen in life … it’s not worth a whole lot of discussion by people that know nothing about any of those involved or their lives.
I personally wouldn’t, one partner is enough work for me. Monogamy is fairly rare in the animal world, we’re definitely working against our evolutionary instincts. Overall I reckon we do a pretty good job as humans if it’s 1 in 5-6 that can’t do it. I’m not going to hang them for it, it’s just something that happens.
Would definitely be better if they didn’t get married, but sometimes there’s strong pressure to take that step.
