I thought trading for Taranto and Hopper would have made them so much stronger.
Turns out they have a serious lack of depth. The bottom 10 guys playing for them each week are really bad

Open season. 14 teams are contending for a spot in the finals. Our matches against Essendon, Sydney, Brisbane home, etc will be pivotal.
There's two spots up for grabs in the finals now. These six look pretty set to make it:

Collingwood
Brisbane
Port
Bulldogs
Melbourne
Geelong (will be fine once they get players back)

The other two will be between us, Essendon, St Kilda, and Freo (who are now starting to click). North, Hawks, Eagles and Giants are no chance, and Richmond and Sydney look very unlikely too. Carlton haven't played well all year, and the Suns (although starting to look better) probably fall short too. Last night was a huge result for Essendon as they still have to play North and the Eagles twice, so they look likely to scrape in.

Crikey just looked at the team line ups for Hawks V WCE - possibly the weakest 2 AFL teams on paper you will see for a while... Wowee :embarrassedv1:

Could be a close game... but expect terrible level.

St Kilda probably in the box seat here, with two games vs Hawks and play North and the Eagles in that run home to September.

Mind you there last two games are vs Cats and Lions at the GABBA.

Come on. You would know better than us West Coast intentionally finish low when there's no chance of playing finals.
They've done it every rebuild and it's paid off for them, this year is no different.

There’s nothing intentional about this. Look at our injury list. We are playing every “fit” player right now.

The injuries have ensured we finish bottom four and I expect we won’t move from the bottom couple now.

West coast will auction off pick 1 /Reid to the highest bidder, 4 1st rounders I reckon
I think they'd be better off just taking Reid, being shit again next year, grab the best player next year and front load contracts in preparation of raiding WA players coming off contract in 2025/2026.

Despite the Hawks being bottom last they are actually a much better team than West Coast with all their injuries and North.

If i was west coast id offer it up to either the hawks or north for their 2023 and 2024 1sts..

See which one bites..

Turn pivk 1 into a top 3 pick this year and a, more likely than not, top 5 pick next year.

But I also wouldnt put it past them simply taking Reid.. and then holding onto him… they havent traditionally been a club that loses a hell a lot of their interstate players..

LOL West Coast....
