Play the kids and rebuilding through the draft is the done thing for most clubs (except for Collingwood and Geelong). Is it still a viable strategy though. Adelaide is a good example, they committed to a rebuild (for possibly the first time in their history) and it is now looking to pay dividends.

I guess the challenge is keeping enough seniors and quality ones at that to help mentor and develop the young players.

It’s why I think we did alright with getting Baker and Graham in.

As for Norf… going scorched earth on their list - they’ve not recovered. Add to that the lack of quality in KPP’s and yikes…

Pathetic club. Wasted their era of “challenging” now watching their superior rival overtake them and look to be set for a sustained period in contention. I hope the Crows can win a flag, it will do a similar number on them as 2018 did to Cockburn.

Alex Davies will command a decent pick now if he still wants to leave.

He will anyway, has a lot of suitors lining up - competition to land him is going to drive up the price.

Certainly did himself no disservice today though: 30 disposals, 16 contested possessions, 6 clearances, 10 tackles.

Worked exceptionally well to block J.Dunkley around stoppage to protect N.Anderson and M.Rowell and let them take the match away from Brisbane.


He would be the perfect defensive foil to have alongside H.Reid.


No idea how much West Coast are into him, but the lack of chatter this late into the year suggests the club haven't made any big plays to turn his head (which in my opinion is just baffling, especially considering A.Davies is still only 23).
