Ok I will ask if nobody else will..

When did Jack Silvagni become a highly desirable player?

Have I missed something?
St Kilda going wild with the credit card is the real story, not what's in their bags.

Mason cox appearing from nowhere to play finals is akin to Michael buble resurfacing around christmas with a new album.
Given Adelaide interecepted everything when last played the Pies, they need someone that won't be outmarked and can bring the ball to the ground at least.

WTF

Bailey Williams is better than Mason Cox

Good old "insert Victorian suburb" hey

Will take 'boring old', cashed up, good fishing/crays, nice beaches, relatively safe Perth over 'exciting', broke, busted arse, crime ridden, Jacinta Allan and Dan 'Commo' Andrews infested, Nazi or Hamas loving (take your pick), crying about us keeping a minimum of 75% of our population's share of the GST, we rely on handouts, Melbourne..... every day of every week.

you make a fair point, add to that corruption ground zero

Yep, feels like Ross is desperate to make finals, and is splashing the cash to get it done.

Who knows how bad their cap squeeze will be in 2-3 years, especially if NWM stays.
SOS is a disaster of a list manager. Did the same thing at the Giants until they had to walk players, only getting their shit sorted once he was gone, tried it again at Carlton, and is now going for third time lucky at the Saints. Must talk a helluva game to keep getting jobs when he's been objectively awful every time.

Corruption ground zero is normally Queensland, unless NSW has been putting in extra effort.

Yeah, Victoria has many faults, but it cannot be the worst state to live in or the most corrupt when Queensland exists.

Que?

Qld is great. Way better than NSW or Vic and I've lived in both.

Fair. I haven't lived in Queensland.

WA is definitely one of, it not, the best, but the idea that Melbourne is some crime-ridden corrupt shithole is a fair way off base.

If saints lose a few players, their additions really don’t seem that impressive.

Is TDK/Silvagni/Ryan/Aleer really an improvement over Wilkie/Steele/Marshall/Windhager if they were to lose some or all of them?
They wont lose Wilkie
Steele they probably want to phase out a bit anyway - they could add Flanders or something to their ins to replace him
Marshall would fetch a first rounder if moved on
Windhager probably stays imo, but if he leaves then theyll probably hold onto Steele, and look to Garcia/Boxshall types to cover his loss.

They have a pretty good young group, Nas, Phillipou, Wilson, Tauru, Travaglia, etc who are all young, very talented players and are still developing.

If they get Max King fit there is scope to make a big jump up the ladder next year imo

You'd be surprised. A lot of the(primarily African currently. Vietnamese in the past, Lebanese more recently) gangs are pretty brazen with their home invasions, public assaults, etc. When I was there between '15-'18 there were numerous attacks on the motorway. They'd cut people off late at night and carjack them on the highway. Home invasions into rich neighborhoods, etc.

Qld certainly has issues with youth crime but it's generally contained within their own neighborhoods.

I lived down on the Mornington Peninsula, so I was away from all that, but at the time it was daily the attacks and robberies. It was very bad. Dunno how bad it is currently, as I don't live down there anymore, but putting out machete collection bins isn't a great sign.

I like a lot of this action for the Saints, but it is starting to bring back the ghosts of Lyon’s Lovett & Bennell trades, which were also a few years into his tenure.
