So there are two articles on the AFL website detailing what Port and the Suns are doing in preparation for China. Looks like two pretty different approaches to the same issues – one seems almost laissez faire, while the other is conservative almost to the point of ridiculous (but you can never be too careful, I suppose).

Compare the pair:

Smog:

Meh.

Concerns about sandstorms and respiratory issues, risks mitigated.

Food:

Meh.

Imports food from Australia, bans players from eating outside of the hotel, organises food on flights.

Flights:

Four players get business class (the tall ones?), the rest are in economy. Leaving early on Wednesday. But they get a swimming pool during their stopover.

Players going in two groups, first group are tall or injured and get two stop overs and arrive Wednesday morning, so they 'have more time in China'. Second group get one stopover and arrive Wednesday night. But they all get premium economy.

SUNS article: http://www.afl.com.au/news/2017-05-09/economy-class-or-not-suns-are-all-business
Port article: http://www.afl.com.au/news/2017-05-09/food-poisoning-fears-force-port-cuisine-clamp-down
i can't believe they are not in business class- that's the strangest thing in all of this

Still find it dumb as dogshit attempting to find a niche in the land of the rising sun then inviting the GC SUNS in their aptly colored guernsey to be your opponent. .......who's the dickhead

this is such a pile of crap. Geelong more or less forcing Bartel into retirement despite meeting his clause was bad enough, now Thomas basically feels like he has to waive his to ensure he gets treated fairly at the selection table. There's absolutely no reason why the new CBA should allow contract triggers. They basically only exist to lowball players and - surprise - the club might not honour it anyway! what a ****ing disgrace.

MasterChef judge and celebrity chef George Calombaris has been charged following an altercation with a rival fan at the A-League grand final on Sunday night.

Calombaris, a keen Melbourne Victory supporter, was caught on camera losing his temper with a 19-year-old Sydney FC fan and pushing him in the chest after the nail-biting game.

NSW Police confirmed on Wednesday morning that a 38-year-old man had been issued with a Future Court Attendance Notice for common assault.

He is expected to appear in the Downing Centre Local Court on June 29.

Says more about the guy who's pressing charges. What a complete campaigner. Just accept you were a smart mouth dickhead, got shoved by a celebrity and leave it in the past.

I'm going over old news Lachie Whitfield got 6 months for avoiding a drug test and is allowed to return this week yet not 1 Essendon player tested positive to an illegal substance and got 12 months.

What ******* bs.

I've moved on it's just I won't be completely over it until the next player that gets caught cops the same penalty.

Well then youll never be over it as every situation is, was & will different & outcomes will never be the same. Christ, could there have been a more 'different' situation than the one the club just went through?

Asada/Wada made an example out of the Essendon players and it's only fair that the same penalty needs to be up held regardless of the situation the player finds hims self in that's all.
