The funniest part is that he is somehow behind Jagga Smith WHO HAS NOT EVEN PLAYED A SINGLE GAME.
Absolutely.
I'd also argue that Rowsten and McMullen have shown far more than a stack of those guys in the list and stiff to miss.
They'd be key components of teams like Essendon, Richmond and North

Poor Eddie - he’s getting even more unhinged as a result of our Lachie Ash beating Daicos to get the EJ Whitten medal as the best player in the Victorian State of Origin team!

“Lachie Ash who won it was sensational but I’m going to bring my own medal and present it to Nick before the game and then everyone else can play for the rest,” McGuire said to the Herald Sun.

“The funny thing is I sat next to Ted Whitten all night and he was expecting to say Nick at the end.

“We were calling him ‘EJ’ in the stands. It was a great night, the game will get bigger and bigger.”

So happy for Wade. I know it’s a professional business, but I thought we did the wrong thing by him - we didn’t release him when he got another offer, even though we didn’t debut Wade during all his years with us. Then we didn’t give Wade an opportunity to play AFL after insisting on keeping him to his contract and then delisted him at the end of last year. So glad it worked out for him, and hope he has a great future.

Not sure about feeling like we did wrong by him. He was under contract and really good depth while we were losing a bunch of best 22 players.
He didn't debut because he was never a better option. No one is owed a game.

While he was contracted I'm sure they wanted him to play at some stage. It wasn't likely a spiteful move to hold him to his contract just so Melbourne couldn't have him.

I'm really happy that he's found a new spot though. Hopefully he debuts this year!
