The great thing about Carlton is that they're geared to maintain a perfectly mediocre standing in the competition. Picking up Judd kept them competitive enough after their run of #1 picks, to ensure they never really got enough talent through the doors thereafter. Obviously Wayne Hughes had his part to play. Now Judd's on his last legs and they've forked out top dollar to our former #13 to keep them on the middle rungs of the ladder without ever really threatening.

That's spot on. The raft of early picks totally papered over the general shitness of what Hughes was up to and grabbing Thomas out of spite on top dollar, mwah, magnifique.

In my opinion Mick has absolutely destroyed some of our players who looked to have a bright future.

Robinson was a damn fine player under Ratts - he's now a clogger and will be gone soon. Walks was a gun forward, Murph was a top 5 midfielder, Garlett was arguably the best small forward in the comp, we got the best out of guys like Duigan. Watch Gibbs leave and become an absolute jet.

Malthouse comes in with a plan that doesn't suit this group of players and they can't adapt and their careers turn to shit, they lose confidence and we play like this and look spineless (which some players are).

Under Ratts we had the ability to play clinical footy and bury teams. We have not done that once under Mick, not once, and we don't look like we will anytime soon.

People say "oh but we would play well one week then shit the next under Ratts" - at the moment our worst now is looking shitter than our worst under Ratten.
