I don't think Rankine's sins deserved missing the entire finals series, it unfairly punishes the fans and his teammates.

2 weeks for a first offensive and a massive fine to go to an LGBT charity would have been the punishment I would have handed out.

I don't defend what Rankine did but I agree with Elmo and some other people that his 4 game suspension is too harsh a punishment especially when it will likely rub him out for the entire finals series.

It seems like most of the people that wanted a 4 game suspension or longer are supporters of the other teams playing finals.

Well apparently I found out recently this wasn't the first time Rankine used the homophobic slur this slur, so i think he iz probably now lucky to only get 4 weeks.

Tbh i genuinely feel bad for the LGBT Adelaide Crows fans, this incident would hurt them far more than any of us could imagine.

Let's hope this is the last time we hear of any players using homophobic slurs again

my main issue is that it should be the cascading increase to stamp the behaviour out. couldn't give a shit if he was from a finals or non-finals side. it's the inconsistency and enabling which is dumb.

own the behaviour, don't hide behind poor mental health as an excuse.
