Re: North Central Football League

The saints must be forking out some big cash this year.

With the return of the 2 Grigg boys (Russ & John), CLint Mc Intyre, Steve Biggin, Luke Archibald, Stu Egan and 2 Ballarat players.

Looks like they are going to spend the cash the club saved last year on players.

Haha, find that hard to believe with one of the abovementioned having a year off with OP!!

Re: North Central Football League

I read on the clearances from Millewa league that Matt Mcleod is going back to Donald.
Played with him at Sth Mildura & against him at Cardross.
Had a big year last year with making GF and playing rep.
Should be a handy aquisition the big strawbs.
How are Donald shaping up this year after another premiership?:thumbsu:

Re: North Central Football League

FACT: Ben "the Glutten" Hutton was back in Wedderburn on the weekend, spotted chatting to the coach and the president Dean and Tim Lockhart! were they good enough friends for Hutton to simply pay them a visit????

Re: North Central Football League

Wouldnt write them off just yet have a few players coming back and may have a couple of handy recruits, and as for numbers the first few weeks of training have seen the most numbers at pre-season training for the last two or three years, so bend it f**k off and stop talking dribble.

Wyche always have players coming back every year. Handy recruits every year lucy why dont you let us know some of the names before you go off blowing you lid. I was just going on wat i have been told.

Re: North Central Football League

Just saw this on the VCFL website. This could open a can of worms for recruiting in this league, considering the NCFL season starts 2 weeks before Ballarat and 3 weeks before Bendigo.

Special Circumstance Permit - Drought

Please be aware of the new Special Circumstance Permit regarding players during the drought period that can be invoked immediately relating to all VCFL Leagues and Clubs.
The VCFL Rules Committee considered a request from Football Geelong to permit players of a drought affected league to be granted permission to play with another VCFL club, before their registered club's season begins.
The Rule will be added to the 2007 VCFL Handbook (Rule 2.13).

Attached is the form here

I remember there was a bit of fuss when Dedini played one game for Charlton in 2006, this rule will really get some people talking. Considering a fair few players from the NCFL have gone to Bendigo, some clubs may get some gun players for the first three games. This may not have a major bearing on the overall premiers, but it will be interesting for the first few rounds.

I am wary however that this rule could see players who have done full pre-seasons miss out, and also see clubs in the NCFL dish out more money (which most would be struggling for) to outside players.

The rule also states that the players current club must sign off on the form before he can play.

I don't like this rule because i think it will take away from the recruiting power that NCFL Clubs had this year compared to Bendigo and Ballarat Clubs. This year, NCFL clubs could offer players three more games, which would mean three more match payments. This rule however, will see players stay with (or go to) Bendigo clubs but play a couple of games with NCFL clubs to get the extra coin anyway.

But anyway, who does everyone think will be rejoining (or joining) our league for a couple of weeks?

Donald may have a couple of good ones from Bendigo, as may Wyche.

Re: North Central Football League

Robbie Lee is coaching Birchip. Don't know too much about recruits.

If Dean Lockhart is coaching Wedderburn they are kidding themselves. 'Dorra' aka 'Captain Kickless' is well and truly past it, and I'd suggest they'll have huge problems luring players there this year. After a few solid years without winning a premiership, I reckon its back to the bad old days of the 90s for the 'Burn.

Matt Gretgrix is a talented key forward who would be good acquisition for a Bendigo League team. I believe he lives in Bendigo so if he's sick of the travel and the price is right he's a good chance for a Bendigo team.

Well mate for a bloke who calls himself "bendigo" i thought you would have none that Matt Gretgrix aka G-TRAIN does play in bgo for Eaglehawk who made the premiership in 06, he is a quality player who had a strong impact in the side last year. Matt will be playing at the borough this year again and has been trainin hard and lookin fit.

As for Dora "captain kickless" good on him for givin it another shot with the burn boys. Dora done a great job with the boys last year considering they lost 8 senior players from the year b4 and only recruted 1:eek: .Started the 06 season with 6 young players who had never played a senior game. Seen the redbacks on the track the other nite about 30 there and heard from the fench that they have signed 5 players(2 from bfl 2 from sunshine and 1 from swan hill leauge) with couple in limbo so hope they can prove a few wrong and turn it on wit a fit young side.

Bend it, you seem to have some knowledge about what is happening in the donald camp, any truth to the rumour about a link between beckham and a central murray club?

As far as i know no central murray club has contacted him, I think that is another vicious rumour to come out of wycheproof from some blokes who had sampled a few to many jars one night and it just got out of hand.

My apology, I believe it is actually a golden rivers club that beckham has been linked too. Im also lead to believe that a former premiership player for Donald is going to rejoin the club this year. Any idea of who this player is ?
