I'm only getting narky because this idiot ( sorry...twerp  ) shows no respect to our opponents. Worst South American side? Get your hand off it. I know there is a big Argentine/Uruguayan rivalry, I think he could be letting that blind him, because they drew with Argentina, and finished fifth.

Thems the facts...

Have more alcohol to get over it.

But that defender who scored the goal is a dud. I reckon Australian soccer has too much dead wood.

Okon
Murphy
Laziridis

There like the Phill Symths or Larry Senstocks of Australian soccer.

There's no way Farina will go. Harry Kewell said that the main reason for him playing for Australia was the fact that Farina was there to convince him. He is a good coach, and if he's sacked because of today's game then that's just plain wrong.

:(

I don't think it will be the case of Farina getting the sack, I think you'll find he'll probably resign as he probably will not be prepared to go through another four years.

As someone who knows pretty much nothing about soccer except the general rules, I do have an axe to grind with Farina anyway. Please tell me if I am out of line with tactics.

It was quite clear the way they won in Melbourne was putting Kewell to the left wing and placing Agostino up forward, yet for some reason who went back to the line-up that went nil all for 79 minutes in Melbourne. If he was going for a nil all draw then I can accept that, but surely he should have realised after 14 minutes when Uruguay had scored that the formation wasn't going to work.

Why then did he wait until Uruguay scored their second goal late in the second half to put Agotino on the ground. It's quite clear that the horse had bolted by the time he decided to make a move.

Agostino should have started on the ground and Kewell should have been up the ground a lot earlier.

Farina put the pressure on himself by saying that he will be judged qualifying. He said if they make it he's a success and if the don't he's a failure. I really don't follow the soccer, but from what I can see he's a great coach. I have never seen someone so calm in all my life. Just standing there and working out his game tactics while the other turkey was running around bitting his fingernails off.

Onya Farina and the Socceroos...... we nearly did it.......

Farina stuffed up.

He let the situation of being in the box seat let him cloud his judgement.

I thought he did not play Agostino firstly because they went with a mindset of being defensive.

I say the best form of defence is offence.

So i'm NOT the only person!!!!!!! :)

I thought the exact same thing in the France game. Kewell creates so much more when he's up the field a bit. (eg the goal in Melbourne against Uruguay) I thought during the France game that perhaps Farina didn't want to put him up the field (Uruguay would have been watching and very interested to see how he would work with the rest of the side). But when he started the 1st Uruguay match with Kewell in the same position, i found it a bit weird.

Kewell usually plays up the field for Leeds, doesn't he?

Mind you, he still creates things when he's forward, but not nearly as much, or as promising. He such a class ahead of anyone else in our side it's not funny. And it certainly shows!

cheers!

Farina won't get sacked, SA wanna keep him. He has got offers from Europe to manage, so it's the actual case of him leaving.

Agree on Agostino starting. I said befiore the first leg to Fat Red, and he agreed, that Kewell needs to be on the left, and Viduka and Agostino up front.

I think if Soccer Australia had there choice....Franky would defently stay...but he is only making $65000 a yr, and overseas clubs want him.

He is a good coach....and he makes all the right moves......I just hope we can keep him :(

WASTED CHANCES  I know that the players were under extreme pressure, but there were times when they definitely did have their chances.
