they seem decent. my brother and mum have samsung notebooks and they seem to run fine. it all depends on what you need though. i personally stay away from acer because of a bad experience i had.

i have an ASUS and it hasnt missed a beat in the 18 months i've had it. still running pretty good and i leave it on for weeks at a time. plus it has a 2 year warranty

I would go any of the new netbooks with a 6 cell battery(I think it is 6 cell)

The new generation is coming out with dual core processors so get one of those.

Stay away from ipads as they are more catered for gimmicky stuff (sorry, still think apple is a gimmick.

If you want to go down the path of a Tablet, then there are a plethora of ones you can choose from...Dell, HP, ASUS, ASER...etc
They are expensive for what they do as is the ipad so if you need a basic system that does what it needs to do then get a new generation netbook...thats what I did

I travel weekly for work, it travels very very well.

A pleasure to use. My first mac, and I love it.

They have unbelievable battery life. I can squeeze 8-9 hours out of mine.
