Today. My mates got stuck into me for Richmonds loss on the weekend. Stating that whilst we have stars on our teams, a majority of the team wouldn't get a game anywhere else. For the first time in my 21 years of life. I was silent. Usually, when someone gets stuck into Richmond, I'm the first to jump in and defend my team until the end. Time after time. But today. I was lost. I sat there in silence, taking all the abuse that came at me. I couldn't even think of a retort. Time and time again I try and build the team up. And time and time again, I am let down. The girlfriend goes for Brisbane and says we are pathetic. Cant even think of a comeback, considering that Brisbane have won more flags then we have made finals in the last 30 years.
To those saying that we are still only 5-4. Our 4 losses are against teams that we are competing with for the top 8. Stop accepting mediocrity and start demanding success. We beat the teams that anyone else can beat, yet can't even get close to the teams that we NEED to beat. I accept that we can't win every game. Just not possible. What I can't accept is the efforts we put in against Top 8 sides, and the pathetic excuses we give ourselves after a loss. "They are top 4, going along nicely." Geez. How many top 4 sides are there?
Tired of excuses. Tired of pathetic performances. Tired of the mediocrity our club seems to thrive off.

I think you need to think better on your feet and bite back with some witty retorts!! Every team has some amunition.:D

Been thinking on my feet for the last 18 years (Earliest I can remember about footy.) Maybe I'm just tired of it? I don't know. But, for me to stay silent about a team I love. That's saying something

At least we have the best theme song.
Feel your pain champ.
We have major injuries at the moment though.
Our bottom 6 are no longer as bad as before.

Once our players come back, we will be okay.

Stop being a pussy. And stop overreacting.

I think you just don't know anything and just copying the general feeling around here. Saturday's loss was hardly the worst loss we've had.

Still struggling with some of the doom and gloom. Our aim this year was finals. We still might make the 8. We have deficiencies. Everybody knows that. We lose to the top teams. Beat the others around us, we make it.

Every side overrates their players and underrates other teams. It's the nature of the beast. We're still doing okay at 5-4.

We will win a few more games this year that's certain and hopefully it's your mates sides. :thumbsu:

Tigerman I have heard all this before from my son

You will find that once people know your a Richmond man, they can say what they like once this wasnt the case.We were the best of the best we have a great history

Its a time for the weak to have a go they think they have something over you be proud of your club being Richmond means something deeper inside hard to explain but you are part of a yellow and black family surely you have felt it at times .

Anyone can barrack for Collingwood,Hawthorn you can change teams if you like but I bet you cant.
Yes its hard being a tiger but really would you want to be anything else???Stay strong we need you..

You might be right OP. Until we beat the big sides and make the 8, the jury is out.
But I would say a fair few of our players would get games in other sides.

Enough of self-pity threads and woe is me threads.
There are enough of them to contribute to and some of them are actually very articulate and well thought out.
We are 5-4 with a % of 107.
Yes we have deficiencies, but it's Tuesday morning and another game awaits.

i've done the ladder predictor a couple of times - after this loss (and more significantly the way the team played), geez its gunna be hard to make the 8. I see us finishing 9th... I know I might as well go to a fortune teller cos I don't know how the year will unfold.

but in general I have been unimpressed with the Tiges on the field this year - bar the form of Ellis Vlas Chaplin, Jackson, Houli, the rest of the team has gone backwards.

I know injuries are a factor - we've played Grimes and Foley and they look like they're struggling with the tempo of the game.

I hope things click, players return from injury, midfield's mojo is found, selection gambles come off, cos its shaping to be a disappointing season again.

A couple of weeks ago I was quietly confident of this game in the west. But just can't see us getting over them - or any 1/2 decent team- ATM.

As Hardwick always says, the great thing about footy is that there's always next week to redeem yourself.

Let's see how they react to that bad loss this week against the eagles. If they don't win this week, it could be season over. But if can win it, well then we're back on the Tiger rollercoaster...

I am just hoping we can escape without any injuries and no real damage to our %.
The Crows game after the bye at the G is the season-defining game in my opinion.

Harden up mate 9 teams lost on the weekend we were one of them. Next week we hopefully are on the winning 9 and you can give it back to your so called mates

Yep I thought we'd win the Crows game but they are playing a good style of footy without Walker. They run so much harder than we do. Could be in trouble but we go alright against the Crows. So still quietly confident for now.

Also to OP how can you get ripped into by a Brisbane supporter? They are ****ing woeful. Just ask her how they went against us last year. You'll get some payback when we rip them apart like all the other shit house teams we play. :p

The Tigers will be roaring and ready to go for the second half of the year.
Conca, Ellis and later on Tuck will be back in the midfield.
The likes of Cotchin, Deledio and Maric really need a rest, so the bye is perfectly placed.
After the bye: Adelaide(MCG), Bulldogs(Etihad), St Kilda(MCG), North(Etihad), Gold Coast(C), Fremantle(MCG). This run is an absolute gift!
Could put us at potentially 11-5, if we play to our potential!
