Now that it appears that the Judd deal is done and dusted can Miller now look at completing some deals that might actually benefit us in the next few years. Here are a few suggestions:

M.Morton and pick 30 for Pick 19.
McMahon to Richmond, Schulz to Port, White to Dogs.
Moran for Hartigan and pick 51.
Boyle & Hawks second rounder for Meyer & pick 30.(Long shot but worth a try)

Cale Morton in the National Draft. Pick the best available at pick 18 & 35.

Hooper in the PSD with pick 1.

Now I'm sure some will not be happy with these suggestions but please try and keep the abuse to a minimum. Just trying to discuss the future of the football club. The addition of these players or those of similar ilk will add depth to Richmonds list for the small cost of Schulz, Meyer and Hartigan none of whom are current starting 22 players at Richmond.

Yeah the only thing is that I don't care about Mitch, I don't want Cale. I'd love to have both but I'd love even more to have Mitch and The Cotch. We shouldn't get sucked into thinking that just because we get Mitch we need to draft his brother.

All I know is we need some damn Key Position Players.

At the start of the year we had:
- Knobel, Gasper, Kingsley, Richo, Hall, Simmonds, Pattison, Hughes, Jack, Thurstfield, McGuane, Schultz, Graham, Polak

If we trade Schultz then we have:
- Richo
- Simmonds
- Pattison
- Hughes
- Jack
- Thursty
- McGuane
- Polak
- Graham (r)

That is a real lack of Key Position Players, we are really screaming out for some so why the hell are we looking at McMohan and Morton and not Boyle and Wood?

The fact that all those blokes other then SImmo and Cho' are under 24 also shows how shit Danny Frawleys recruiting of KPP was

Not too happy with any of those to be honest.

Mitch Morton is not worth conceding a Top 20 draft pick for IMO. I'm just not that impresses by him - he seems to play like Kayne Pettifer before he got his act together, and there's nothing to suggest Morton ever will. If it were Morton & 46 for Pick 35 I'd be far more willing to take the punt on him.

Schulz for Pick 16 from Port is an attractive option, and one that has been bandied around in a number of reports.

McMahon might turn out okay - I'd probably concede Pick 19 for him.

Don't know much about Moran - can't comment on him, but Hartigan's just about out the door anyway.

No way I'd get involved in any Boyle for Meyer trade. Boyle is a very limited footballer, and his knee could fold over again at any stage. I'd much prefer to give Meyer one more year to prove his worth.

These were ideas thrown out there and considering what we would be giving up to land them I don't think it would be that bad if something along these lines was to occur.

Might be wrong but having 4 players that could easily get a spot in our best 22 come in for players that aren't in it at present is far better than giving away 3 picks for Judd who would still be surrounded by those same 3 players.

i can see not many being happy at the end of the week...
why dont any people at richmond want to lift this club...
players being mentioned, mcmahon.. 330k a year.. omg!!!
why are they doing this to us for????

get morton, moran and one of mcmahon or hooper and im happy, along with picks 2 and one of 18 and 19 we will have done very well

Seems that the Hawks are interested in Meyer and are considering the names we put forward for a trade. Wouldn't mind getting Dowler from them, 196cm 90kg forward wouldn't hurt at all. Achieved about as much as Meyer has.

Except that Dowler got cut in half in a car accident a week after being recruited. He's good, and as a big forward is worth a lot more than that lazy boy Meyer.

Or as another posted suggested we could ask for the 3rd Morton and what I read about him in the back pages of the drafts/trading board would be another handy pick up.

Here's where recent history shouts at us

DON'T TRADE WITH HAWTHORN

They have become the masters of offloading damaged goods. It wouldn't surprise me if Dowler is still carrying a hefty dose of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Not to mention any other "habits" he may have picked up at the "family" club

dont trust the hawks

not surprising theres little or no interest in mark williams, no one trusts the slimey pricks.

they'd prob offer a 4th rounder for meyer, dont even waste ur time talking to those [pri.cks.

They might be but Richmond has reportedly said we want a player in a straight swap for Meyer. If we were to gain one of their young KP forwards say Dowler or Morton for Meyer then I would be pleased.

With the Judd deal done and dusted I don't see the need for us to trade anything to WC for Morton who is uncontracted. We should therefore tell him we will take him in the PSD with pick 1 and keep those 3 Top 20 picks for youngsters. Would still be happy to get McMahon and if we can get pick 16 from the Power for Schulz (don't think we will though) then maybe use pick 19 to the Dogs for him.

Do you really think hawthorn would even consider something like that? they are the new collingwood of trade week, arrogant, unrealistic jokers

Mate Boyle ain't a patch on Schulz, he just got lucky being the third tall in a good team (and kicked straight). Stay the hell away from flankers like mcmahon and morton too, unless they come cheap.

Dowler's accident was prior to the draft, but they took him anyway. They therefore knew he wasn't a year-1 proposition so are unlikely to be moving him so soon.

We certainly don't owe the Eagles anything ... didn't do us any favours over the last few weeks in coercing his majesty to Tigerland. PSD for Morton, unless they re keen to trade late draft picks.

How about we offer them Pick 18 for Josh Kennedy? He's obviously keen to stay in Melbourne?

Agree wholeheartedly, especially on the first line.
