ok so brown wants the tigers. he is now out of the picture. so where now? i did a poll recentley and even though it was quite unsuccessful in getting a clear idea of what player you guys wanted wearing black and white next year (i mean i got only 18 votes), there was one thing to come out of it. 2/3 of you guys wanted brown.the last 1/3 was spread amongst 6 others. thats a pretty clear picture. so he is gone, what is collingwood's main priority NOW? stevens? cox? soloman? maybe even say holland?
thoughts...

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING is finall dude, he can't sign anything, SO therefore meaning that nothing is finall, and anything can happen in trade week like three years ago with Stevens

From what I've read, Collingwood are going to have a go at getting Stevens to add to our midfield.

I also wouldn't be surprised if we go for an established ruckman as well to back up Fraser while the likes of Cloke, Walker and Richards still develop.

I reckon another key position player that can play at both ends is what we need, perhaps Holland.

And Collingwood are apparently going for Lindsay Gilbee

Callum chambers of the Eagles?
Vic boy, much like willo, may be wanting to come back to victoria
pretty sure he played under mick malthouse
maybe mick knows a little more???

further to my last post bout callum chambers
he is fast, hard, naturally skilled and a good finisher
also more experienced than gilbee
could be able to get him reasonably cheap?

looks like stevens is in the bag from various reports, so maybe we will see a ruckman come in like a dean cox or a matthew allen. i'm not convinced on a ruckman, it'll take a poor performance by guy richards in london to convince me to go after a ruckman

i reckon Richards wont play badly, the young players are there to prove themselves and try to break into the seniors next year
Therefore, IMO still no need for a ruckman.

this is probably very optimistic but could we do this and get away with it?:

collingwood: pick 24,
st kilda: mckee, pick 64

collingwood: stevens
port adelaide: scotland, pick 17

collingwood: croad
fremantle: betheras, pick 24

i doubt it but its a nice thought

collingwood gain: croad, stevens
collingwood lose: mckee, scotland, betheras, pick 17, pick 64

Translation: Swap Scotland with McGough.

Anyway, there is another option which hasn't been discussed.

Keeping our first round draft pick.

I wouldn't mind picking up a tall prospect like Will Geyfer (brother of Mick!) who can play a KPP role at both ends in the TAC Cup and is athletic.

The type of tall we need IMO.

If Gayfer has anything like the work ethic of his brother we should snap him up immediately, especially if he has more talent.

2 reasons why we should give our 1st pick away-

1. its a shallow draft from what i hear and we don't really need to get another youngster at pick 17

2. brayden shaw is as good as a top 20 pick and we are getting him at like 32 so really our 1st round pick should not belong to us after october 17.

This Gayfer, is he a half brother of Mick?

Mick Gayfer wasn't that tall and there must be a big age difference of about twenty years or so, if he's only in the under 18s

My old man is 54 and his youngest brother is 33
