Sydney has always been NRL but so much AFL was everywhere from 1997 till a few years back but TBH unless you have an interest in AFL you barely hear anything about it anymore in Sydney (Western Sydney anyways), RL is literally dominating Sydney like AFL dominate Melbourne.

Helps that all media in Sydney is bought and run by NRL media machine.

I saw that they were going to offer taking the production in house which, along with the additional teams, would take away a lot of the additional money they are going to make as part of this wish for $3 billion
