Also Sydney bitterly complained that was unders but they took what they could get because he was out of contract like NasiahGlad you raised Jordan Dawson. He was a good first 22 player at the Swans at the time of drafting and was traded for a first round selection in the NAB AFL Draft (tied to the Melbourne Football Club) and so was traded for a late first round pick. Dawson at the time of trading is much better player than Aleer has been this year.
Aleer is a fringe player, and so will go for less.

In all fairness outside of Port the Saints have maybe the best history of supporting indigenous players in the AFL or is that just my perception? In the business of drafting it is about weighing risk.
Drafting an 18 year old indigenous man with strong family links in his home state and links to another AFL club in his home state is a flashing red risk of leaving at any time in his career.
If you take the risk and draft him, you back yourself to create an environment where the pull to stay outweighs those other factors and that is an extremely high bar to achieve.
If we were operating under the same rule that landed Ugle-Hagen at the Bulldogs he'd already be our player, Pickett too.I hate this line of thinking tbh.

Yeah man, it’s full on annoying. Is it just me? But, I am starting to get a bit sick of these St Kilda pricks coming here and posting the same crap comments post after post!
You have said your peace, now ping off and wait 'till Nas makes his decision.

I understand how you feel. I hope he stays.Butters is obviously a sensitive spot for your mob. How do you think we feel at the prospect of Nas leaving? The guy is not just a gun on the field, but will be worth his weight in gold for marketing.
Who knows, Nas may leave and with the players and/or picks we get for him could be the tipping point for creating a complete premiership team, or it will set us back years. Maybe Nas going to Port will tip you guys over into a premiership side, or the picks and/or players you lose will set you back.
Judd going to Carlton didn't get them a flag. Kennedy going to West Coast certainly got them a flag.
Footy gods are unknowable.
No, its not your perception. They have a great record in this regard. In all fairness outside of Port the Saints have maybe the best history of supporting indigenous players in the AFL or is that just my perception?

Nas just might nominate Port just so he doesn't need to close his curtains from SainterinSydney hiding in his treesSainterinSydney got tricked by some random saints fella claiming to be an ITK telling everyone that Nas will announce to all the fans at their open training session that he has singed a new deal.
He attended the session and wasted his time
