There is next to no chance Port would value Whitlock as low as a pick in the 20s in this draft.

They had a first round grade on him in last year's super draft and are very happy with his development to date.
Oh ok.. damm

I was mentioned on how we could get a deal done for nas considering almost every oppo poster saying “How can Port trading in Nas, without a 1st round pick and not trading out any of Rozee, Butters, JHF?”

Thanks for that Chewy

I think we’d need to pony up three first rounders in that situation (2027 first) if we want a trade to get done relatively easily. We could try and get some later picks back in the future drafts for our academy/FS selections.

We could also be dicks like Geelong and say pick 8 or nothing and push him to the ND. I don’t like the stress of him going to the draft in that scenario though.
Brisbane only gave 6 & 19 with 30 coming back for a contracted 25yo Lachie Neale why would we want to pay more than that?

Because future picks weren't on the table back then like they are now. Trying to compare trades that did not have the same system in place is a bit of a fools gold experiment.

I get where you're coming from and admire the creativity, because it is a long those lines as to how Port could put together a package that is in the ballpark to acquire NWM.

But Whitlock's value will be at bare minimum, a first round pick. He would have gone in the top 10 had he been in this upcoming draft class.

6 and 19 is basically two first round picks. I’d be getting fairly agitated if Port handed out more than two first round picks for an uncontracted player.

Will probably cost the equivalent of two 1st round picks with a sweetener attached. But I also think they view Whitlock as a first round talent.

If St Kilda don't view Whitlock as a first round talent it's going to be difficult to do a trade involving him, imo.

Butters to Hawks? That would unlock some value somehow.

Another club probably will if the Saints don’t, but I’d prefer we find another way and keep Whitlock (if it comes to it).

Jack certainly doing the right thing by the club with the rise in SANFL form.

They probably do or would view him as such but will refuse to say it and deal on it because they'll want more. Hearing that Saints were looking at him and even Berry last draft if I'm correct? You'd think Whitlock specifically would be what they are chasing for a KPF 200cm+ player who can potentially ruck but also clearly has talent. My honest opinion with people laughing at the thought I Whitlock being steak knives in the Nas trade as an example by Saints fans is that they just don't want to look ahead at potential. Yes, he won't be a like for like player and probably not "elite" immediately but he could be the next big thing as a proper tall KPF considering King for them has been riddled with injuries. Personally I reckon Whitlock from what I've seen could go way past King.

You put Whitlock in this draft he goes before any available tall .

He should sign if he’s staying, if he has intentions to leave better this year isn’t it?

He's a restricted free agent, so Port can match any deal next year anyway which would result in a trade if he decided to leave Port.

Port are confident of keeping him. Dare I say all the talk about Butters leaving is strictly coming from the Victorian media bubble and is imo, at this stage, very much overblown.

Well Bonts took a reduced contract at 1.3 million a year.

Wondering if they are maybe making space for a major offer to Butters?
Think the Dogs should solve their defensive woes first and foremost before deciding to add another mid imo.

For all the talk about how the Dogs' list is "stacked"; namely the Korn, their defensive back leaves a little to be desired.
