So the reports from saints supporters on bigfooty stating firmly he's already signed a 2 year or allegedly a 4 year deal is pretty clear garbage seeing as even Ross clearly doesn't know and they, as in him and the club are still working through it to get something done. That, and even player(s) at Saints want him to sign but he hasn't and they know the pull home to SA and family etc is there and bigger. Basically, he hasn't signed anything. At this stage I wouldn't take any saints or ITK poster on here knowing anything except rumours or speculation from all sides. He no doubt does enjoy playing with his mates and team mates at Saints, I dare say majority of players would and it wouldn't always be easy making the decision with that. Heck, I feel even Houston has regrets leaving Port based on his body language and playing this season because he no doubt loved playing for Port and this group and team.

Ita definitely not money this, regardless of how much Saints offer now or any types of behind the scenes assets and money given to him and or family.

If he stays at Saints it won't be for his career but short term, and even that might make him not like the idea if the pull home is stronger. It's definitely down to Port and Saints. Not Crows one bit.

People like Jay Clark stating it has to be X amount of first rounders are just living in delusional world because ad much as he is exceptional... stating a trade won't or can't happen with Port is just garbage. It will and would and they would manage to get it done and that is without the whole Butters stuff too. Saints can ask for Butters but even they would know that that would never happen. Besides, as much as NWM is definitely their best player currently, Butters in that side as pure midfield would be their #1 best player from the first round. Either way, won't happen.

Still will come down to either 2 future 1st round picks and change or a player like those mentioned previously, whether that's Whitlock or Berry. I dunno..

Or it's somehow bundling picks to grab Suns 1st round this year and a future 1st. Again, dunno..

But it will happen if requested. PSD just won't happen because he'd get to Port anyway regardless of the numpties stating differently, but Saints won't do that and lose out on picks even if those picks are only 2 future 1sts. Won't happen.

Time will tell though.

Quote from Mason Wood in the Age after the game:

“‘Nas’ is probably the best player on the planet,” Wanganeen-Milera’s teammate and ex-housemate Wood told this masthead.
“We’ll all play for free, and he can have all the money.
“He’s a family kid, and he loves his family, which is why the pull home is so strong, obviously. But he also loves this footy club … hopefully, [a new contract] gets done at the end of the year.
“He has to do what’s right for him, but he’s super talented and just wants to get better. I can’t wait, if he stays, because he’s going to drive the standards for this football club for the next 15 years.
“He executes under the most amount of pressure and demands high standards of others, and that’s only going to build, and … he’ll have a really strong, positive impact on the group.”

- would not fill me with any confidence as a saints supporter. At best the teammates have no idea if he’ll be staying or not.

That’s at absolute best. That’s saying he’s gone and money isn’t a issue

If zak is indicating he won’t commit beyond next year, I’d be doing it..

Just can’t miss this bloke.
I’m doing everything possible to get Zak to commit long term.

Still keep in mind though that NAS is a uncontracted player, we don’t have to do stupid deals. The equivalent of two firsts gets the job done.

Butters is a contracted player. The price is three firsts
