If Kane continues on the trajectory of trying to F with Port now because of his brother and his old man having a sook like he always has done.. it won't be long until he'll get the message. Especially if Hornet basically says F off but not in a direct way. I understand why he does what he does overall but attacking Port I believe would be the nail in his coffin for media, etc.
It will just get him more publicity, he even has his son working at SEN now!

Absolutely. But the fact Port leaked their annoyance to Caro tells me they don't want outside noise jeopardising trade talks.
They'll get the outside noise egardless. I personally feel that they, as in, the "VFL" and all those clubs and people surrounding it, know this was a God awful year for Port but know they have the list except depth, BUT, my point is, even though this year's been bad it won't repeat next and they don't want Nas here at Port. This whole "he should go to Crows" garbage is just to try and cause chaos and issues. They don't want him at Crows either. They just want him to stay in Victoria and be this messiah nonsense for Saints because of all the complaining and whinging that club does about picks, drafts, academies and everything else.. instead of accepting its been a club issue with poor management and all sorts of things for years.

They will do anything and everything to manipulate the situation. Now, Nas may very well want to be loyal and want to help Saints or stay with his team mates.. that could be something he is strongly passionate about with a good moral compass on him but he clearly has something pulling him back to SA that is stronger. Them putting all this excess pressure and crap on him doesn't help the situation but he evidently has a strong mind and confident within himself to make a choice otherwise.. honestly, he'd be like Kozzy is at Melbourne where he's not getting out regardless of how he truly feels.

Perhaps any decision is contigent on proving a deal can be done. Port may not want doubt be sown into Nas's team by outside parties.
I understand that but what makes anyone else think they'll let him next time in 2 years if they manipulate him to just sign another 2 years and go home then if he wants to? They'll do the same thing in 2 years time and say Port cant do it unless its multiple 1st round picks and X players.. Would have to be 4 years for RFA but my issue with all of this is if he truly does want to return to SA and they keep saying just do 2 years and see... That's not really giving a crap about him IMO. He's done 4 years now. Yes he's 22 but he's done 4.. That's enough if decides to leave.

If they get him to sign for 2 the hope would be that he becomes less homesick and that the Saints are on a finals trajectory.

He’ll be worth more in two years if he continues on this current trajectory. Not sure it’s going to be easier for us to get a deal done then.

Part of the establishing the value of a great player is the consistency of backing it up season after season like was the case with Chris Judd.

At the moment, NWM is a good player having a great season and his value (contrary to the hyperbole) is based on that fact.

I understand that. difference between Port as an example is, yes they have Victorian players and they'll do their best but if it truly came to that home sickness port would actually do what's best for that player overall even if it gets them not much in return. That doesn't happen with Victorian clubs.

I didn’t feel bad taking JHF off north though.

**** them
I don’t either, the way their fans did and still do treat him has only galvanised how I felt about that trade. They were adequately compensated in that trade, whereas I don’t think there’s any amount of compensation that wouldn’t leave every Saints fan feeling burnt about Nas leaving. Similar situation with us and Butters I feel.

We just have to put our head down and work out the deal and get it done.

He is starting to move into two firsts and a second, Judd like territory.

I think he will go off in the midfield with us.

He is a nice gift for Carr to get and it would mean all Carr really has to do is sort out our second tier of players as our first tier would be very cream of the crop.

Why would Port be upset with Hutchy saying we can't get a deal done? This tells me Port are in talks.

Because Port need Nas to think they can get a deal done in order for him to nominate us.

St Kilda will be telling him we can't get it done abd that there is no way for him to get here without a trade.

They will be telling him Port don't really want him as they aren't willing to stump up a fair trade.

And they will be telling him not to out himself out there as wanting to leave and going through all the drama when it can't get done anyway.

St Kilda know he wants to go but are hoping to bluff him into staying.

Hutchy is an imbecile.

He literally says in that segment Nasiah will not be receiving the big money he deserves until after a few more years.

Whys that, supposedly he's worth 10 first round picks while being uncontracted at the moment?

Oh you mean that's not his actual draft capital value, you're just aiming to shaft non Vic teams.

Make up your mind bloke.

Then in the same breath proceeds to chastise Port for big Vic Collingwood not being willing or able to trade on fair terms for Houston, via the Lucosious trade.

Haven't the saints itks told us he is signing a 4 year deal with them this week? I'm just waiting for the press conference announcement. Yesterday would have been perfect, maybe he bumped his head on the ceiling when Ross carried him around.

If i were St Kilda and he had signed id bask in the glow of the victory for a couple of days then announce the signing when it starts to slow and launch the hype to the moon again.

If he isn't announced by Thursday though...
