Serious questions. Would acquiring NWM ultimately cost us Butters if we can’t meet his salary demands or match RFA offers next year? Would it help keep Butters if our footy improves with an extra gun?

Does a stockpile of Butters, JHF, NWM, Rozee, Bergman and Georgiades compromise the rest of our list build to the detriment of team success, or can that all be fixed with better culture and coaching?
In my opinion…

Acquiring NWM is a serious intent and a massive tick for Josh Carr’s credentials and football program. It also shows Zak that we've had a bad year this year but are trying to win premierships ASAP.

Getting NWM to our football club is a huge statement of intent. Zak has mentioned that he’ll make his decision based on football. Getting nas is as good as it gets to play alongside someone who can help fast-track success ASAP, especially when he’s playing alongside potentially himself, Butters, NWM, JHF, Bergman, and Georgiadis.

According to Chewy316, acquiring nas wouldn’t affect re-signing Butters at all; list management has been frugal with cap management. So, I think we should be able to attract and acquire good players for our footy club, and hopefully, Josh's program can galvanise the group.

It’s hard, if you can somehow bring a core as good as that together, the team will improve drastically. The hope is then as the list around them improves and you are contending for multiple flags, the stars are reaching the point in their career where they will re-sign on slightly unders, to keep the core team together and contending. Ie. The Geelong model.

Ralph kissing Ben Williams's arse and yet everyone in media knows Williams is going to leak the NWM decision to Cal Twomey.

Yes, though Ben has a really good relationship with Port. Clients at Port under Williams's management include JHF, Rozee, Lukosius and Bergman, might be a few more too but those are the top names I know of.

Why would Nas come to Port when we have dickheads like koch and Richardson in charge and a bunch sycophant shit gibbon board members hiding away somewhere. Surely Nas contemplates this riddle.

I don't think he would give a ****.

Its hilarious seing aints board have this hatred for Ben Williams, they will be in shambles should he leave.

You campaigners would be melting as well if it was Butters having dinner with Kochy, Kenny and the local millionaire (I assume you don't have billionaires in SA 😉)

Something like 16 players from the Showdown loss were playing in the prelim last year.

It's not like these players have suddenly forgotten how to play. The bones of the team are really good bar a few players who are simply not up to it - but in every premiership team are 3-4 spuds that make you go "how the heck did they win a flag?!"

Fact of the matter is that the success of this team, like all teams, depends on the top half dozen players. They play blinders, Port almost always wins. They play bad, Port get smashed.

This list is far from cooked, there's so much growth left in it.

I agree and am heartened by the fall-back prospect of having talented, highly rated NGAs and FSs that we can access in the next 2-3 years. We do need some other players to emerge though and elevate their games more than they’re currently showing. That and some shrewd late-round draft selections or moneyball trade gets.

As an example, can we get two or all of Ramm, Walsh and Moss to be high calibre AFL players?

All those billionaires and you still can buy yourself a premiership in the last 50 years farken
