This is where the 2nd change to the draft picks has come into effect this year where a team can trade picks 2 years out (to make up for the short fall in value). Hence all the recent talk in the media about a player being worth 3 or 4 first round draft picks . Most supporters haven't caught up with this yet.

This trading future picks comes from some bright spark at AFL HQ who follows the NBA, who thought mmmmm.... They can trade future picks that would be good here in the AFL. (NBA, they have traded future picks up to 2032 that is 7 years in advance).

For the Crom Murphy is the one that comes to mind .... but I think it might be Keays for all the bluster about how much he's improved.

Ben Keys is 100% one of those players. His time at the club has been "ball winning midfielder" -> run-with-midfielder -> gut running high half forward. The improvement coincides with replacing replacing Keys with better players and putting him in a position where he just runs a lot and gets on the end of plays. He's now Josh Jenkins. They've improved because Keys is now a player getting one of the last touches in possession chains instead of being in the middle trying to move the ball through a zone.

Except instead of being 200cm and gut running off key defenders, Keys does it on half back flankers.

The PSD threat will also be completely real despite many wanting to discount it. We will likely hold a lower pick than the Saints. None of the other clubs will burn a pick on a kid that doesn't want to be there. No player in PSD history has ever been intercepted, particularly when nominating a break the bank salary and term that wouldn't be worth the while of the clubs below us.
