We intercepted John McCarthy who wanted to get to Richmond.

No player as good as Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera has ever made it to the PSD, because no destination club has ever been stupid enough to allow that to happen. If he does, 5 clubs aren't going to just roll over and allow us to take a 22 year old young superstar for free.

Of all the clubs below us, Essendon in particular with their big club ego and the Wanganeen connection would pick him up and try to convince him to stay. Or get a king's ransom for him at the trade table in 2026 if they can't.
The part about Essendon getting a king's ransom isn't true from what I know, unless rules changed. In fact, they'll get nothing.

If it were to happen via the PSD, NWM would nominate with a financial package of 1 year for 3 million. Any club that picks him up will have to pay that. In order to go into PSD, he'll need to delist himself from the Saints list (similar to how Jack Martin delisted himself from Suns list to go to Carlton via PSD). So the next time NWM comes out of contract, which would be 2026 assuming Essendon pick him via PSD on the 1 year deal, he'll be a UFA because all players delisted at any point would become UFA next time they're out of contract (similar to how Jack Martin was when he came out of contract at Carlton to move to Cats for free).

So all Essendon will be having is a year of NWM where he possibly will kick up a fuss and won't even play for them.

But then trade him for a king's ransom. If Port was in that bottom 4, wouldn't you want them to take the risk if it was Daicos, for example?

My point is you can't trade him. He'd be on a 1 year deal and then becomes UFA because he'd have to delist from Saints list to nominate for the PSD this year.

So unless Port were a flag contender, no I wouldn't take the chance on Daicos. Because when the year is up he'll walk for free.

He only becomes Unrestricted Free Agent if Saints delist him not if he delists himself and enters draft. If he delists himself and enters PSD and club picks him up he's an NFA. Saints won't delist him out of spite too and hoping he stays with them otherwise it's on him.

However, I find it amusing all these people saying he will get picked up by other clubs like Essendon or Eagles etc at the price and terms he can state. They won't. Regardless of how many numpties state they will. Absolutely NO club outside SA where he allegedly wants to get to due to reasons PLUS being indigenous as well will pick him and at the price and terms if he states 1 year 2 million. They'll be informed by many including indigenous side NOT to take him and let him get back to SA. Guaranteed. So that leaves only Port.

Are you implying the Saints are Real Madrid 😂
Geez, chalk and cheese if ever there was. :)

Not just Nas, but gee AFL players are soft with the I wanna go home thing. If you want to play at the highest level in soccer, basketball, baseball, NFL, F1 and plenty of other sports you're plying your trade overseas.
One of the reasons I admire people like Boak and Pavlich.
