And you would be calling him an idiot for saying Biglands should come home...your point?just maybe said:I bet if this was Biglands you'd be foaming at the mouth!
just maybe said:Yep, if it was a member of the general public they wouldn't be allowed to do what they want like that.
I bet if this was Biglands you'd be foaming at the mouth!
Mad Dog said:and this is where your argument collapses - and is the basis of everyone else's point in this thread except yours.
The fact that he is a public figure gave the police confidence that he could be interviewed later....and therefore there was nothing to be served by dragging him off and locked up.

I have much more important things to worry about than whether Rhett Biglands would either be detained at the airport before a game or police waited until he returned to collect a statement from him about an alleged assault.
But I think you've just revealed your motivation.
But seriously, if you think it's such a big deal, there's the PCA number. Call them and register your concern. Don't just keep crying here on an internet forum to a bunch of people who really don't care.

Yes, I'm sorry. Your thousands of posts on a footy forum show how important your time is. I'm sorry to have bothered you.
I don't care enough to register a complaint and nothing would happen. I merely wanted to open a discussion, unfortunately several people just had a go at me as a result.
crows98 said:Because some yahoo insinuated he was king hit by Dean Brogan means the police should apprehend and arrest him right there on the spot? I have no problem with how the SA police force handled this.
Innocent until proven guilty and it’s not like Dean Brogan is going to disappear into the night. FFS
Get over it.

Dale is a TOOL as he admits he regularly goes to the airport to give opposition AFL players a bit of a 'send off', this time he has copped what he deserves a smack in the gob.
Brogan should have handled the situation better.
No AFC supporter on this site wants anything to do with the Dale TOOL, because I highly doubt anyone would do what he sets out to do and be small minded as Dale, 'ohhh bigman Dale having some smartarse comment to say at the airport'![]()
If you support Dale then you are as big a TOOL as he is, and Im sure this isnt Dale's first smack in 'lamb chops' either.
RogerRabbit69 said:JM, for what it's worth, my personal view is that you are blowing things out of proportion.
Common sense says the police knew they would have the opportunity to continue their investigations upon Brogan's return. Brogan did the wrong thing - but I believe to detain him and prevent him from travelling to Melbourne would have been excessive.
I'm sure you'll disagree - and obviously that's your prerogative.
I note you also say you don't care enough to register a complaint. However, you seem to care enough to submit endless posts on the topic in this forum. To me, that doesn't add up.
just maybe said:Why because I am critical of Brogan does everyone seem to think I'm supporting Dale?
Because it seems that you are going way over the top with respect to Brogan just because he plays for Port, that's why.just maybe said:Why because I am critical of Brogan does everyone seem to think I'm supporting Dale?
maccas_no1 said:Everyone agrees Brogan went about it the wrong way, we have all said that, the police hadnt even got there by the time Brogans plane had left, so they couldnt do anything about it till they got back on Sunday night.

are you bored JM??just maybe said:Aren't there security officers at the Adelaide Airport? They have the power to detain.
I'd say someone smacking someone in the face in the airport is a pretty good reason to detain that someone for interview.

Is there a link?SpringChoke said:... or the guy with the PENDING ASSAULT CHARGE ( ding ding, alarm bells, alarm bells)? ...
...
For minor altercations like this all the time.just maybe said:I have to say, given Brogan was reported for assault, allowing him to catch the plane, play the game and return to Adelaide smacks of one rule for the general public, and another for celebrities.
How often will the police let a member of the general public go about their business to their satisfaction before arresting them? They won't........
Are you sure you're not "Ted"?just maybe said:Why because I am critical of Brogan does everyone seem to think I'm supporting Dale?
OK answer this one.just maybe said:I'd be the same for Biglands. I think Brogan's action was atrocious and the fact that he is getting so much support is beyond me. He's simply a dumb thug.

Poster A: JM, you're over-reacting
JM: No, I'm not
Poster A: Yes you are
JM: No, I'm not
etc, etc

Should the police have arrested a drunken Goodwin for physically assaulting the photographer before any charges were laid? Yes or no.
