As mentioned in another thread - occlusion training is a new concept to me. Kirky has said he dabbled for a session or two, but has anyone else in here had any experience? If so, what were your results like? I'm genuinely interested to hear.

Thanks Kirky - I'm really keen to give it a try. I've done a bit of reading today on the subject and it seems to be a legitimate technique. I'm going away at the start of May, so I wouldn't mind looking my best. It's off-season, so I can afford to change my training to be not-so-sport-specific.

An idea might be to measure pre then post workout then every 12hrs after to see how far the size gains last for...like I said I gained 2cms in 30mins but I'm thinking the gains might leave pretty quickly and I'm not sure about the sustainability of them either...so you'll find out how often you should do it...also make sure to have carbs in your system pre workout to..

I was definitely going to measure as I have a friend who is hesitant, albeit interested in how I go. If I can bring him results, I'd like to take him down form his know-it-all high horse.

What's the importance of carbs pre-workout for this? I normally train in a fasted state in the morning.

Layne Norton is a fan if you google him, he has a you tube vid doing bi's occlusion style.

Occlusion training originated from Japan in the early 2000's.

Occlusion training can really only be applied to bi's , tri's , quads n calves.

I think Layne Norton experimented with it to increases his lagging bi's leading upto a comp.

30 reps-15reps-15reps-15reps-15reps seems the common sequence with 30second rest between sets.

I did bi's occlusion style & the were sore for a week but didn't have the same effect from tri's.

I only had access to straps that weren't as wide as knee straps though so will try again with wilder straps once I've experimented with BBS training for a month.
