If this was the USA the Langham would have their asses in court by now!

At the very least refund + hospital bills should be covered. Loss of income/suffering, that's another matter.
Yeah- I think it'll take a while to sort out refunds, medical costs, etc. I'm sure there will be some form of compensation.
I do get shitty, though, when people sue for trauma and unmeasurables and demand millions. If I knew for sure someone else was to blame, and that it was negligence, I'd want to have expenses covered and a refund of medical costs. If I ran a business and my illness caused extra expense there- eg such as hiring someone to cover for me while I was sick- yeah, add that to the bill. Otherwise- meh.

Guess it's a bit like calling someone a campaigner, hey? Everyone knows what you're calling then but because you don't wrote the actual word that campaigner replaces, it becomes acceptable.
Inconsistent double standards.
The same goes for calling people poofs or racist names. It's only "not ok" sometimes.
Wee-oo wee-oo!!!!!!

How the **** is anyone meant to buy a property these days, have been saving (in general I save $1000 per month) and thought I might be ready to think about buying something- a 1 bedroom something mind you. And I did a quick calculation of mortgage repayments, $1600+ a month. So that leaves just a tiny bit left over for you know, those pesky things we need electricity, water, gas, food and like, a life.

I hope my flatmate never kicks me out, would have NFI what I would do then. Fml, will never own.

You wait for a downturn in the market, you look outside of the areas you've got your heart set on- further out the houses are cheaper. Or you find a rich hubby ;)

Or you take out your loan for a longer period. There's nothing wrong with 25 year housing loans.
