Should change the name of this thread to OFFICIAL TRADES full stop.
Having the trade period last a whole week is akin to being forced to watch a replay of last year's game between Pakistan and England.

Like I said on Monday - nothing will happen until today

According to the Age Website there are about 15 trades that will happen before tomorrow

They will fall like a house of cards once the Rawlings and the Brown deals are finalised

Collingwood appear to be playing silly buggers in the Stevens trade.

Why try to offload our army of surplus midfielder/flanker types such as Bode, Mattner, Doughty and Gallagher and plum tradebait like Goodwin and Perrie when you can stick with what we've got and finish sixth and be belted by the likes of Tredrea, Cornes, Lynch, Rocca, Hamill, Tarrant, Pavlich, Medhurst, Farmer, Burgoyne One, Burgoyne Two and Milne at every meeting?

We should stick with what we've got for sure.

Geez Im really disapointed in the AFC you cant tell me they were going to plan nothing or not to go after a decent player:rolleyes: Well Mal Michael, Luke Power, Daniel Bradshaw and Nigel Lappin have all re-signed with Brisbane:rolleyes: :(

Okay I will put this to you all....................Allistar Lynch................would you have him at the AFC for one season in the hope of winning a flag???????? Lets be honest he is one of the best FF going around, very hard to match up on;)

Thoughts????

Nup. I don't think we would be interested at all. End of story.

Sorry Kane, I know this thread isn't for rumour or other discussion but everyone else is doing it. I'm just followng the crowd. ;)

I don't know why everyone is getting annoyed at our lack of involvement in the trade period.

Personally I think it's not a bad thing.

It means all our efforts will go into recruiting through the draft, which means youth.

We will for the first time have draft picks in the first three rounds. This is a good thing considering our tendancy for trading away any good picks we have.

Hopefully we can get another Reilly and Johncock. At least we're giving ourselves decent odds at doing so, and best of all it won't cost us a good player.

However, I may be speaking too soon.

I'm all for the lack of trading... As **** mentioned, it means we'll have to delist some players, and inject some youth... :)

And to those saying now's a good time to trade Perrie... seriously... if we traded Perrie, we would get nothing like it in return, and it would be a risk. Perrie has begun to prove himself this season, and will only get better. We don't have to rely on him up forward, but when he contributes, he does it pretty well... he is our best 2nd tier forward... I'd even put him in front of Welshy, simply because of his hands above the packs...

The reason I am p|ssed off at the lack of movement is that we have players in our squad that are holding back youngsters. Players like Doughty, Gallagher and possibly Perrie so the likes of Reilly, Schuback, Parker, Hentschel and Bock get a decent run at AFL level. If we traded those players for pick or players that would address our weaknesses I would be happy. If we don't get anything I will be angry.

There is still an hour and 20 minutes until the end of trade period.

Fingers Crossed;)

Apparently the Crows have been emailing their trades into the AFL using a Telsta Bigpond account.

Swans Stevens now a Crow

Sydney and Adelaide have struck a deal involving a move for Swans forward Scott Stevens and an exchange of draft picks.

Stephens will cross to Adelaide along with Sydney’s second round pick – number 31 – in exchange for two picks from the Crows – numbers 29 and 45 at the National AFL Draft.

The 21 year-old forward, originally from Perth, has had a battle with injury during his time with Sydney.

But at 194cm and 85kg, he shows plenty of promise and is expected to develop quickly working with the likes of Wayne Carey, Scott Welsh and his namesake Mark Stevens in Adelaide.

Agreed.

I was hoping the Crows could obtain either a proven young player (ie Charman) or someone who has been on an AFL list not getting a go (ie Seaby) who could take on a ruck/KPP role.

Essentially we needed to draft an impact player.

Someone who could step in and help out our problems areas. We have had only 2 wins from 6 finals games in three years. We needed to obtain a player that could step in and assist in one of our trouble spots.

Hopefully Stevens will be the guy. Good luck to him.

Our priority now is to draft some really good kids, give them 12 months in the SANFL and mke sure they are cherry ripe to step in Round 1, 2005.

Agreed.

We really need to nail our picks this year. We must get a couple of very good kids and hopefully get a bit of a steal with pick 61. We might opt for a delisted player with this pick. As long as that player is young and is a good footballer I would be happy with that chioce.
