My wage budget at Boro is 32m and my wage total is 27m... so i was well under budget.

Then got up to Jan/Feb of 1st season and was consistently making losses - no idea why and was about 6m in debt.

Got offered a new contract and they said Due to the financial situation of the club you will not have any transfer funds.

Now in March, my wage budget says 0m allowed and my total of 27m is 27m over budget! :eek: :mad:

I assume that is an annual budget...........check your income. Sounds like you aren't producing enough income to generate a profit based on your current expenditure.

Try offering some guys a lower wage contract........or sell off a few players that are surplus to your requirements to reduce the wage bill and to generate the cash.

In my 4th season at Spurs.

I DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finally i have won the English Premier League.

And what a finish it was. We had a heap of injuries, we were out of form, we were hanging on.

It came down to the last 2 games win them both and the title was ours. A 2-0 home win to Blackburn was a good start.

Then it came down to Liester away. Simple win the game win the league. A goal at the 28 minute mark eased the nerves then a second at 41 minutes was all it took. A 2-0 win bought the title to Spurs. In second and third were Chelsea and Man City only one point behind.

I was exited to say the least. Lucky the missus was in bed so she didnt see my reation.

So now my Spurs career is complete, i have done it all.
Won :
EPL
League Cup
FA Cup
Champions League
Euro Super Cup
World Club Champs

I have already expressed an interest in the Inter job, and they seem keen. And i hopefully will have Guus' Aussie job in a month if he retires as he says he is.

I love this game.

That's a pretty high defensive line you're keeping there! You must play in some high scoring games I'm tipping!

Note the time of the game and the scoreline - everyone forward.

I never knew the offside rule only worked for the attacking half.

just finished a season managing queensland. got bored of brazil so i thought id load up the a-league and premier league and hopefully play for a while.
finished 3rd in the league, knocked out adelaide in the minor semi, but got beaten by melbourne in the prelim. sydney went on to win
interesting thing happened in the world cup though:

Finally finished my season with Cambridge City and finished 4th but lost in the playoffs so another year in the Conference South. Which is annoying as I have no money and cant lure any half decent players at all. So I just have to try and loan some half decent players and with Weymouth out of the division, hopefully go on and win the league and get promotion.

Cambridge City.

Signed Shaka Hislop, tbh I was amazed he would come to us. The fans are delighted with him. The board are in love with me. They offered me a 3 year contract but I only took 2 years, so if another club comes in for me they wont have to pay as much compensation :D

Im with City too... who plays well for you? We could learn a lot from eachother here. I have Mori up front, got him from Adelaide and Harries also scores quite a bit but is inconsistent. I had Gareth Williams on loan for the season and he scored 30+ goals for me but he wont come back on loan again for the coming season.

My first 11 are...

G.Williams (onloan) Mori

Binns, Adam Smith, Parmenter, Carl Williams

Pope Fuff Langston .. cant remember who i have at RB?

Caiton

Handy subs are Mosely, Harries, Sadler....not many really on the bench.

I've shelved my Spurs game for now, as I wanted to play in Serie A for the first time. Conducted a random selection and Fiorentina it was.

I didn't know a lot about them other than they had Toni & Bojinov. I completely forgot they also had Pazzini. Bonus! Not a bad trio of Strikers to form a team around.

First impressions of the squad:
* Strikers - terrific
* Midfield - nothing special, needs more talent and depth
* Defenders - needs an overhaul
* Goalkeepers - not too bad, but Frey is only on loan.

With only $2.3m in transfer funds to start off with, I had to spend wisely. I also decided to sell of a few of the aging squad players.

Outs: Cejas (GK), Guigou (MR), Pancaro (DL), Vryzas (FC)
Ins: Mokoena (MR/FC), Vanden Borre (DR), Lepiller (MR), Dervite (ML), Amri (ML), Kamara (D/MC), Guarin (DMC), Besango (D/MC), Biseswar (Utility), Dorsi (GK).

Reasonably happy with the purchases, especially Mokoena & Vanden Borre as every man and their dog started bidding for them once I put the first bid in. Hate that.

I also had bids for Adu & Gaven accepted, but Adu didn't want to leave yet and Gaven's transfer was rejected as apparently you can only sign one non-EU player per season in Italy?

Line-up looks like this at present:

GK : Frey (in on loan)
DR : Vanden Borre
DL : Pasqual
DC : Dainelli
DC : Ujfalusi
DMC : Donadel
MR : Bojinov
ML : Montolivo (co-owned)
MC : Fiore (in on loan)
FC : Pazzini
FC : Toni

Bench/reserves include:
* Mokoena - MR/FC
* Di Loreto - DC
* Do Prado - DM RC
* Felipe Gomes - AM/F C
* Gamberini - DC
* Jorgensen - AM RL (co-owned)
* Maggio - DR
* Biseswar - utility
* Pazienza - DMC (in on loan)
* Roccati - GK

Guarin & Besagno will join the club at the end of the season.

Won my first three cup games against easy opposition and have drawn Milan in the next round.

Won the first two league games against Empoli & Ascoli 2-1 and 3-1 respectively.

Could get a bit ugly defensively against the big boys, so I'll be looking for an upgrade in personnel there sooner rather than later.

Its hard to stay at a club once you have achieved it all, i do hear Fiorentina are a good team to go.

As for me i am still at Spurs wating for anothr job to come up. I wouldnt mind Serie A either but i want to keep the same game going, i have a good rep.

Had my first game as Aussie manager to Usbekistan. We were 2-0 up after about 25 mins, Can you believe we lost 4-3. I blame myself partly for some player choices, I blame and aging Mark Schwatza and Craig Moore for some poor defence. At least we had alredy qualified for the World Cup. But i agree with WTTF there are not many world class players fro Australia in 2009. It sgoing to be a tough world cup.

ok, for all you FM gurus out there who are finishing top 3 every year - i ask for some advice.

im nearing the end of my first season with melbourne (3 games to go) and i havent been able to get running all year. ive only made it into the top 4 twice (4th both times), and for the rest of the season ive been 5/6th, and have now slumped to 7th position.

here is my squad and current tactics;

as you can see ive purchased some pretty polished players in luke wilkshire, danny milosevic (who has been injured all year - only played 7 games) and to a lesser extent ned zelic, jacob burns and jade north.

basically my question is, what tactics would best compliment my current squad? ive shyed away from using archie or allsop as target men, as they are both dominating and i didnt want to take the focus off one of them.

i seriously feel like i could get ronaldinho and cahill in the squad and still suck....im at a wits end. :mad:

any help would be MUCH appreciated.

Even though i am no expert i have had some success on fm2006 (see above posts)

So as for tips, your tactic does appear to be attacking, so maybe going a bit more defensive especially in away games may help.
Also your defensive line is set to deep. That means that your defender sit right back that allows the opposition to get right up near your area before they defend, maybe try moving that line up a bit to put some more pressure on the opposition as they attack.
I also think set tackling to hard, thats just a standard for me personally, coz i like my team to be aggressive and i'll wear the cards.

Also go to www.sigames.com there a plenty of tips there in the forums. And if you want there are lots of tactics to download, but i prefer to make my own, more satisfaction that way, that you did it on your own.
Good luck.

I have had some good results with Victory.

I play a 4-1-2-1-2 formation, generally defensive. Utilising this with very similar tactics, except mixed passing, as your tactics has generally worked. You possibly require another quality striker (Scorza is a gem), and some back up pace and composure at DR.

The team talks are an important part of this as well, ensure you praise when games are won, but don't get angry too much, generally sends the team into a form slump.

thanks lads, ill try these out in the next season.

also hulkster, im getting yellow and reds far too regularly (even though my tackling isnt aggressive :confused: ) so i dont know that i can risk being too aggressive.

what formation are you using AVA ?

just the 'ol 4-4-2 with very attacking wingers. i got great results in the pre-season comp (came runner-up) by using the wingers and crossing in to archie, so i stuck with it.
