With the womens final out of the way it's time to look to this match?
Personally i think the match last night wouldn't have helped nadal.

Federer's arrogance quick to come to the forefront, as it usually does when he's not being interviewed immediately after a win (that is, if he has lost or is commenting on an upcoming match/tournament in depth).
He believes that Nadal having just one day's rest, as well as playing a record-breaking 5 set marathon last 5 hrs and 15 mins, compared to 3 sets, will not disadvantage nadal in the final.
**** off.
I really hope Nadal wins.
He is not giving credit and you have obviously not read the full transcript.
I could write a lot more but your post is full of ignorance for having not read the Q&A..
Oh no, I've offended the federer stans, someone call the police!
You are the tool for twisting a fact to suit your theory, rather than a theory to suit a fact.
edt: Fine, I'll bite your bait.
In very short terms, Federer was justifying the extra rest he has, saying that despite the circumstances of nadal's match (which broke a bloody record), federer in no way has any form of advantage over his opponent, and not due to nadal having any form of awesome recovery ability, but because the timing schedule is fair. Pure arrogance when it is the biggest case of a timing disadvantage I can honestly recall for an Australian Open final. He knows he is the favourite to win this match, and would have confidence in winning, and wants to ensure that if he does win, it will be seen as it coming down to his ability, rather than nadal being disadvantaged coming into the match.
Is fed any chance of getting the no. 1 back if he wins![]()
Don't really see Fed being arrogant as a problem either. I think if anyone in sport has earnt the right to be arrogant, it's Fed Ex.Power King, you need to get a hold of a dictionary and look up the word "arrogance". You're not in the ballpark.
edit: Not to say Federer isn't arrogant, he is, but you couldn't have chosen a worse example.

So you would rather Federer say all this?.....
I have a great advantage over my opponent, I'm the favorite to win the match and I'll win this because of my fighting ability....
I'm curious, is it that you hate Federer, or that you would rather all players speak of what is exactly going on in their head, which is what you have mentioned above.
That may well be going through Federer's head, but thats the confidence he is riding on.

IIRC last year Tsonga played Nadal on the Thursday night and Djokovic played Federer on the Friday night - exactly the same timing as this year. Not sure how you come up with your assumption.
If it was such an issue you would think that they would bring it up with the players association representatives to see if they can change the scheduling.
