Well we may as well get this started, however there are no time limits as of yet.

A quick reminder of the rules:

- We will draft 13 players as per normal, however each team will have an extra bench position on their roster, which they can utilise when they suffer a long term injury. The injury will need to keep the player out for at least 5 games. Once the player has missed 5 games in a row, the player is eligible to be placed on the injured list and replaced by another player. Each manager will have to notify the league when they are going to utilise their extra bench position. When the player returns from injury, the manager will have to notify the league who they are dropping to get the injured player back on their roster.

- Scoring is head-to-head, as per last year.

- There will be a maximum of 50/60 allowable moves for the season, depending on what Yahoo allow.

- You can trade throughout the draft period, as well as the regular season, though there will be late season deadline as always. Trades can be for players and picks. However trades have to be equal for the draft period, otherwise teams rosters will be short. For example you cannot trade LeBron James for Pick 2 and 25, however you could do LeBron James and Pick 150 for Pick 2 and 25.

- Roster Positions: PG, SG, G, SF, PF, F, C, C, Util, Util, BN, BN, BN

- Stat Cats: FG%, FT%, 3PTM, PTS, REB, AST, STL BLK, TO

Keeper Rules:

1. A players value is the round they were orginally drafted at (so all players taken in round 1 have a value of 1)

2. Value does not effect trades in season ...it only comes into play once you choose to retain a player on your list for the next season.

3. When a team chooses to keep a player they must of course pay a price - this price is the previous season draft round + 1 spot up (A player taken round 10 will cost you your round 9 pick)

4. The only exception to this rule is if you do not have a higher pick - you are allowed to pay the same price (ie if I keep my round 3 pick from last season but I have traded for a round 3 pick last season that I want to keep also ......I give up my round 2 choice and my round 3 choice)

5. First round draft picks can obviously only cost you a first round draft pick

6. A players value is not lost when delisted ...I delist Le Bron ...he carries his value forward as a round 1 selection

7. The following season - value is based on the previous seasons value not the original season

8. If a player is not drafted at all by any team in a season but is then picked up on the WW once the draft is officially complete - his value is 13

9. If I want to keep 3 previously undrafted WW choices the following seasons it will cost me pick 13, 12 and 11

10. You can keep up to 5 players on you roster.

Basically it is not complicated -

- Each player has a value (expressed as the round taken)

- Each season every player retained looks for a increase (value + up 1 round)

- Sometimes you get lucky and if you cant increase (as the round spot is already filled) ....you can pay the same value as last season (ie the round you chose the player)

- You can not offer a player less

At the end of the season ...we just pull up the previous round by round selections and as each Club submits their list of keepers ....Griddles just adds there name into the new draft. Each retained player fills the spot on the draft using the up a round (or same round if not possible).

Jarv's a fair commish, and he's been doing it for a couple of years. Seriously, its not as if he's going to make a "I can draft other teams players" rule or something. If anything, it'd be a minor change that would benefit the competition and the group, or something he failed to mention above.

Exactly. It's hard to think of rules off the top of your head with anything.

I think we all know what choice Moo is going to make, so its just a matter of waiting for him to get online!

Greg Oden!!!

The top players are very close this year indeed though.

A few things:
Can we make the injury thing that a player is out for 'x' number of games rather than a time frame, because it'll be easier that way probably. Maybe 3/4 games or whatever without playing.
And trades are allowed like the real draft???

U draft after me once again, commissioner :P, or before if we take the even rounds!

Yes you can trade whenever.

Im not sure about the 'x' number of games thing, as whens someone gets injured, the time frame for their return is usually worked out in weeks. However if there is a site that says how many games they will miss then im happy to do it that way. Can change that further down the track.

I'm happy with 6th pick!!! Coulda been so much worse!
Top players very close this year. I wonder how much affect age will have in managers drafting...
Garnett, Marion, LeBron, Wade, Nowitzki, Bryant, Arenas, Brand, Stoudemire, Nash

Hahaha. Drafting is so exciting!!!

And what I meant by the games thing is that if they miss lets say 3 games... THEN they can be placed on the injury list... no matter when they are expected to arrive back. I'm just suggesting this way because sometimes a player is scheduled to be out for a long time, yet they come back within a week, or even worse, if they are expected back within a week (and this occurs for 4 weeks running)...

If a manager uses this too often, they they'll run out of moves quicker, so I don't think it'll be used that often. And also, are the number of moves counted as a drop AND add, or drop OR add.

So what I'm essentially saying is that if you add a player because of injury to another member of your squad, and then drop them again 4 weeks later... is that counted as ONE or TWO moves???

That would be two moves as per the Yahoo way of doing things. I might up the maximum allowable moves because of this injury list thing we are doing.

And yes I now see what your saying with the injuries thing, and its a good idea. If a players misses 5 games, he is eligible to be put on the injured list, this is completely at the managers discretion.

Maximum allowable moves has gone up to 50/60 depending on what Yahoo allows.

This is to cater for the extra moves that will be made by adding and dropping players through our injury list system.

Wouldnt mind being an emergency if someone doesnt show in the first couple of rounds or is unreliable.

I noticed Moo did his last lot of posts at like 4 in the morning. Is that when he is usually on???

If I rememeber correctly Moo lives somewhere in Asia, so is in a different timezone than us, thats why he posts at obscure times. Not 100% on that though.

Hmmm yeah thats what I was thinking.

My Pick will be up early tomorrow morning. That's if Moo gets on tonight sometime.

One - Le Bron James is coming to Moo Moo Land.

Well this makes my pick tough now, with many players as mentioned earlier very draftable.

But with pick 2, the TEAM OF CHAMPIONS select

kobe_bryant.jpg

Kobe Bryant

While he is very much hated and despised, he will be the cornerstone of the franchise. And while this choice may be a little surprising, he is just too good to pass up.
