The OP was all about Craig's quote that we had the most exciting list in the club's history. For a while, discussion actually managed to stay on track.

Then it took a left turn at Albuquerque..

You posted something anti-Craig which seemed to come out of nowhere - it certainly had nothing to do with the topic being discussed. From there you veered in the direction of "woe is Ayres for not receiving the plaudits he deserves". Things devolved into a discussion about the "pro" and "anti" Craig supporters.

None of this has/had anything to do with the OP. It's called a thread derailment. That's not to say that this isn't necessarily a worthy topic of discussion. It doesn't however, have anything at all to do with the original topic.

That's why this thread was created - so that the off-topic discussion could continue, without further disrupting the original thread from which it had veered wildly off-topic.

The location of the off-topic thread in The Backyard is a reasonable point of debate. Maybe the thread does belong on the Main Board.. maybe. Either way, the decision to split the off-topic posts out from the original thread was definitely the correct one to make.

Is the topic, Neil Craig or the exciting list?

If it's Neil Craig, my post is in context. If it's the exciting list - you need to go do some gardening as the last page and half have nothing to do with the exciting list we have.

The topic was Neil's quote that we had an exciting list - a comment for which he was frequently ridiculed last year, but which appears increasingly credible with the way that the team is performing this year.
