Oh Blease...

Did his mother make that video?
"Speed machine"????
Bar one occasion in the vid he took no more than 5 or 6 steps before disposing of the ball.
Admittedly, he found the target more than our guys can in those situations, but until I see a vid of him outpacing Cyril Rioli, I'm a doubter.

Well said Craig. :thumbsu:

This guy is fast, but I agree with you that the video title is misleading and it doesn't show you Blease's speed.

Would be the worst thing to happen to our club in the off season

What about Shaun McKernan?

Thought the Crows were a bit harsh on the lad, has got a bit of upside and made it clear he wasn't super happy at the crows last year and wants a fresh start. Has showed a fair bit in patches.

Nah he'd fit right in - at least half of those kicks were wobbly mung punts which is precisely how we roll at the Westpac centre. Agree on the 4-5 step thing though - the only gallop there was him "burning off" a widely acclaimed speed demon in Tom Young.

The only real highlight I saw in the entire 2:49 was a sneaky sighting of Chelsea getting the business done, although there was admittedly some of Dermott's finest special comments work hidden in there as well.

I don't understand what good it's doing showing highlight packages of Sam Blease. Every AFL player has a highlights package, they're not hard to compile.

At the risk of sounding too harsh on the kid, and being a typical armchair critic, (which is our job as forum members really) the reality is that this kid, who no doubt is blessed with some real speed, just got delisted from one of the most struggling clubs of the last 10 years.

I've heard Melbourne supporters on various talk back shows give Sam Blease an absolute bake because he makes shocking decisions and is very ordinary with his disposal.

Like I said, every player has highlights, but every highlight is a lowlight, and this kid would have plenty. I wouldn't touch him with a ten foot pole, and I would hope the club wouldn't either if they're actually serious about moving forward.

I'd give him a go.
The poor decision/kicking can be put down to confidence.
If he's constantly been under pressure for his spot, that would do it.
Look at our own Taylor Adams, Bucks says he has the skills at training.
On game day he tries too hard to impress, now the spot's his and I'm hoping he'll shine.
