I believe we need the following in order;
A CHF, I have been reading that Jackson Watts from VIC Metro 194 cm kicked 4 goals a fews week back is a very good contested mark. If anyone has seen him please pass on your thoughts. JR maybe able fill a flank and will be more dangerous with a Power Forward along side him. I dont think Hughes is the answer at CHF other options on the list is Putt/Gouridis. Hughes is a FF or nothing.

Ruck - We have not given this position the attention it deserves. When we get smashed ie last two weeks just have a look at how many taps our rucks are getting. Pattison is only a second ruck at best and he goes well. There is nothing wrong with being a second ruck but we need first use from our number 1 ruck especially when other sides get a run on. Gus, I dont think will make it. The other option is Putt but a few years off. What would happen if Simmonds or Pattison went down, would Wallet move Polak in the Ruck?

Inside Mid with polish- We have to be realistic. Cogs may come back but i doubt he will return to his best form. SAD. Others on the list include Polo, Connors that could mix it as an insider.

Our Key defenders look OK and a decent midfield will help the key defenders more. Thursfield, Moore & hopefully Rance or Shultz

Running Backs -is a concern but can we mould Casserly, Connors or Collins in these roles.

Forward Pocket - With X factor & Speed. Clubs have used middle to late picks for a player of this type. Davey's Lindsay Thomas etc. Collard maybe that player?

Under 18's Hurley ATM is the best KPP in the draft holding down CHB - would we pick him up or go for the best Key Forward. Richo has only got another year. Watched him last year doesnt get beaten one on one, big unit, similar to N Brown

I know that there is a lot to get therefore i think we need to look at trading the following players for Picks.
Shultz, (port were interested in him last year) Second or third rounder will do.
Polak back to Freo
MacMuffin
Petrified.
I am aware that we cant trade all of these players but lets put them on the table.
If anyone has info on potential draftees that may correct our weakness please post.

Every kid drafted, must be Footballers b4 athlete.
Must be a size to fill in a Key spot, not a player who like Patto who is not big enough for Ruck but not agile to play Key Forward etc
Can KICK a FOOTBALL
Must put head over the ball and win there own ball- not a down hill skier.
Must have size or the ability to put muscle on and is a potential leader.

Players who we may get if we were finish 12, Hurley, Watts, Debroer,Trengrove, McKerenan,Suban. A good mixture of talls and mids.

We have had a terrible two weeks lets post some solutions.

a key forward with our our first and sec pick, we are developing a good lot of midfield options however I am yet to be convinced we have any elite KP prospects in our ranks., early days I know..JR should be a bloody good player, not sure whether he looks likely to challenge for a coleman medal..never know...In summ Id hate to see us use a top 10 pick on any less than a 6"4 player

I saw Jack Watts a few weeks back. He is a very good contested mark, although I really can't say anything more than that considering I wasn't specifically watching him, it was only one game, and no one really knows where anyone will go in the draft yet.

ive read a bit about this kid, sounds exactly what we need:thumbsu:

I thought Schulz has been playing good lately. Not really as a key backman but as a rebounding backman.

It would be nice to get Hurley but in reality we should try and pick up Watts, McKernan or Trengrove with our first pick and try and get a midfielder with our second pick.

We don't need any running backs, we have a plethora of these.

What he need:
- A fullfoward, not another CHF like Riewoldt or Hughes
- An accountable small defender who can take the bastards like Milne, Didak etc.
- A ruckman
- A crumming small foward pocket, not a lead-up marking one. How much do you reckon Wonemerri is worth, because he could fill the roll pretty well I reckon

What we need is a change of culture.

A heart transplant.

Do a Gaspar on Pettifer and Bowden next week. Send the message to the whole team that no-one is safe, and everyone's career at AFL level is on the line.

And FFS someone give Gary March McKenna's phone number.

a red sash instead of yellow one

barrack for Essendon

that is the only way you will ever again see a premierhsip

The tigers are perhaps going to have to trade a younger bloke to try and get another pick in the top 20 , not sure who this is , I wonder what player that we have that might get us a top 20 pick. Foley , Deledio , Tambling , Cotchin , Newman , perhaps the 5 untouchables , Richo , Brown , Simmonds not going , Moore , Mcguane , Thursfield the future backline , that leaves say Pettifer , Edwards , Pattison , Tuck , White , King , Mcmahon , Polak , Schulz , Tivendale , O-Nicholls , Polo , Raines , Conners . Think there still is a bit of pain to come we really need to prune the list and get as many picks at the draft as possible in the hope we can uncover a couple of kids late in the draft the list is poor really , Hughes couldnt get a game in last years vfl grand final he isnt the answer for our future chf spot and doesnt seem to be in favour with a decision like that would probably hate to see Thursfield , Mcguane , Moore or Raines go but thats our only currency and with the gold coast coming in clubs are not going to give picks away , may have missed a few players as this was of the top of the head but hope we continue to go to the draft with five or six picks , last year we had 4 surely we should of found at least two more players to cut.

Watts is looking more likley the man to go to richmond.. every one is putting him to play for carlton but we will finish on bottom of carlton and probally pick him up.. I've wanted him for ages and i hope we get him.. :thumbsu: :p

Players to target in the draft at this stage:

Hurley - 192cm 88kg key defender from Northern Knights. Probably sits behind Rich and Naitanui at this stage and considering where we sit on the ladder we could be right in the mix for this kid. If we were able to nab him as a future CHB who worries about beating his man first and foremost we would have a very good foundation for a strong defense with Thursfield at FB and Hurley at CHB.

Nick Suban - small defender who can get hold of the ball and uses it very well (kicking efficiency is 76%). Not only that but works hard when not in possession averaging 5 tackles per game last year. Named in the AA side last year.

Tom Hill - 196cm key forward from Northern Knights (Cotchin & Hurley's teammate). Scored 6 goals in the U/16 Championships last year where he averaged 13 disposals 5 marks and 3 Inside 50's. Has an elite disposal efficiency of 82% and knows how to take contested marks as he took 5 in 3 games for the championships.

Shaun McKernan - 195cm 87kg Key Forward from Calder. Corey's little brother and plays a similar style of footy. Kicked 17 goals in 12 games up forward kicking multiple goals on five occassions. In the ruck averaged 15 hitouts with an average of 29% going to advantage which is an elite rating.

Tom Swift - 183cm 75kg midfielder from Claremont. In the 2006 U/16's Championships he had 3 games with 40, 24 & 45 disposals. He led division 1 in handballs, marks, short kicks, contested & uncontested possessions, handball recieves, clearances and frees for. Would not mind adding him to the midfield group if he was to slide which is a possibility after missing all of last year through injury.

Shane tuck needs to be gaspared too. Shocking skills and poor decision maker.

we need to not win more than the five games whatever it takes to do that. We have all the small - medium players we need to take us into the next decade...so with 1 & 2 and 1 in the PSD......this is the year where we can consolidate our future totally. After the weekend...and whoever disagrees can G A G F'ed...we get Natanui, Rich & X in the PSD....its not negotiable...if they dont target one more year of pain for us for the better good of the club then they are all in tghe process of dismantling it.......;)

I think we need to grow some balls again. We turned oursleves around because we dared to be different, dared to try something new and dared to play taking chances. Seems to me like we can do that against sides where we arent expected to win so therefore no risk but when we are expected to win or have a huge chance we go to water and start playing it safe again. Regardless of Thursty's injury,. the coaching box failed to react accordingly to Adelaide after halftime and the buck stops there. Craig outcoached us.

Its about time you moved tambling to be the small defender. We moved Ash McGrath and he fitted this season like a glove. Pity he got injured at the moment. I think you have the personnel, just a bit of restructuring will cover some of the problems.
