I assume it's with your NMFC membership card ...

What you'll need to do is front up to the passports office in Casselden place, the building on the corner of Spring & Lonsdale Streets. Bring lots of other forms of ID (drivers licence, credit cards, birth certificate if you have it, etc). They will make you fill an application form and sign a stat dec (and possibly send you away to get it notarised). Will be a cost, maybe up to $400 or so. Good luck.

Are you absolutely certain its lost and not just missing? Because as said it is damn expensive to replace.

Out of interest how did you lose it considering you're not overseas? Not a good idea to use it as ID unless you really have to. Identity theft as well as the price of replacing it if lost make it a really bad idea.

I carried it around as a form of ID, stupid I know.

Cant find it in my room, gonna check the whole house etc etc before I continue to buy one.

If you're getting a replacement passport, do you need to do to Casselden Place?

If not, you're better off going to the Post Office and getting a passport organised through them. The people I know who have gone through Casselden Place say that it's a bureaucratic nightmare.
